bogus about not being safe over the border...been there plenty of times now and i go over for lunch a few times a month...places to stay her would probably be better somewhere around the airport since its central to all the city and plus the westside is having a lot of construction...as far as food you'll have to be a little more specific on your tastes but rest assured there are plenty of great restaurants around

Definitely a place near the airport is a good idea. The westside is a mess right now. I have been living here since December 2015 & have yet to have a bad meal. I would try everything around you! As far as Juarez goes, it is fairly safe. I avoid being there at night though. Just for my own safety. Be prepared to be on the bridge forever getting in & leaving. But, you can't beat authentic Mexican cuisine.

I go over the border every few weeks for a walkabout, drink a few margaritas, enjoy the food. No issues ever. Lately customs has been slacking on manning the walking entry points, so be prepared for a bit of a wait getting back into the U.S. if your walking. I don't drive over so, can't speak to that. A place to stay, well I can't speak to that, I live here in EP, so hitting hotels aren't my thing. If your looking for convenience, staying near I-10 is a plus. Airport area has plenty of restaurants. Seems to always be construction and traffic in West EP.

The airport area or a little bit east is the best place to stay. Central convenient location, close to all shops, restaurants & malls. The west part is to be avoided IMO because it's a little too far plus as the above posts mention too much construction going on.

And just to be safe - avoid going into Juarez if you can. Not that it is dangerous especially during day time but just being cautious in order to avoid any untoward incidents. And the immigration lines can get long too.

Hope this helps !
