I can't believe how foolish people are!
What kind of stupid are all the people on the roads this mourning. This just boggles my mind, which really is not hard to do in the first place. Reminds me of katrina, and ike what part of get out, or stay at home, stay off the roads don't people understand? Is it worth wrecking your vehicle, or god forbid getting hurt or killed in an accident. You can drive in snow, you can't drive in ice!!! What the hell is wrong with people?,

Some "have" to work Seedman.... Not like your electric company or landlord is gonna say "oh don't worry I know you couldn't work yesterday, you don't have to pay right now". For some, missing a full day's work can cost a lot. Since you're not out on the road, or I assume, it doesn't matter how many get out there does it?

EA I have to work also, I'm just going in later, I have plenty of bills to pay just like everyone else. I also understand about emergencies. I'm a boss and today if an employee, can't get in or comes in late I would never hold it against them, that for sure is not fair or right. And I also understand Friday is payday for a lot of folks, myself included. I'm just saying wait till the roads are safe. Why take a chance?

Guys, I understand, I guess I'm not the normal boss, maybe that's why my employee turn over is so low. That is the only fair thing to do in my opinion, sorry for all of you, that don't have a understanding supervisor.

Remember when the roads iced over all over a couple of years ago? The company I worked for had me drive to Beaumont from Houston in that crap. It wasn't even an emergency. That among a lot of other reasons is why I don't work there anymore. Some companies or bosses are just jerks and will fire you if you don't go in. It's a shame but true.

I am also a boss and small business owner. I would not hold it against the employee that does not come in, however, if I can make it by taking my time and driving on
backroads, they should be able to make it even though they might be late or even
way late. As was pointed out, overhead keeps on going and I don't get to call
kings X and my bills stop because of the weather, nor do any of my creditors
call me and tell me don't worry about paying their bill for this day and just
stay at home.
I do not ask my employees to do anything that I won't do.

Look at Houston Transtar, the traffic cams show real time images.
The fact that most of the freeways are closed, I cannot get to work or to my favorite provider...CRAP!
