My observations:

The erotic artwork was pretty amazing. Very well done and reasonable priced. Wish I had a place for it in the house but some worlds weren't meant to collide!

Vendors: most of the items for sale were BDSM related. Some nice equipment - paddles, ropes, other "implements. . . fun-looking stuff! Best part was that you could "try" it there to figure out what you liked.

Saw the pole-dancing demon, which was pretty cool. Amazing displays of athleticism - this was the real deal.

People watching: Great place to see people (mostly women) wearing outrageous fetish gear. All shapes and sizes but was still a lot of fun to look at! Just to give you a sense, I met a provider who had said she'd be at REAF. When I asked her how I'd recognize her, she texted "I've got my breasts hanging out of my top and am carrying my shoes." What a great way to meet someone!

Masquerade ball: The masquerade theme was cool, and the ladies were dressed to impress. The dance floor was extremely "charged" with many couples and groups kissing, grinding, and groping.

The "Playground" was my favorite. This was in another room across from the Masquerade ball. Several demonstration and "try it areas" for the brave including flogging, eloctroplay, a vac bed, fire play, and lube wrestling. This was a great spot for people to try some "non-vanilla" stuff in a pretty safe and non-threatening way. Also, the alcohol helped.

The after-party in the hotel was just OK. A few "play areas" where couples were having sex out in the open. Some seemed to be really putting on a performance, others more focused on eachother. Interesting if you've never seen this sort of thing before but I didn't find it to be as sexually charged as other venues I've been at. I would speculate that most of the "real fun" happens in hotel rooms where couples meet up with others for more private play.

All in all, the REAF and night activities were pretty fun. I get a sense that it's grown faster than the organizer's ability to stay truly organized. But the people were friendly, open, and it was all-in-all pretty interesting for Rochester. :-)
