Republican House majority leader & convicted felon
Why isn't there already a thread about Tom Delay getting sentenced to 3 years in prison? Sure, he bonded out and walks the streets as a free man. But you'd think one of you guys would comment on a Republican House majority leader being a convicted felon while his successor (Boehner) has just been sworn in as the new Speaker of the House.

What emotional response do you think Boehner had when he heard the news that his buddy Delay got 3 years in the big house?

He's tan/orange and he cries a lot. Okay, fine. The rumors say he's a drunk that plays golf as much as he works. Okay, fine. But it looks like he shaves his legs in one of the golf pics I found. What's up with that?!?

Its simple LM, it was brought up when he was indicted, the conversation was exhausted and now no one gives a fuck, just like know one talked about Rangles ethics convictions, no one gives a fuck because most everyone realizes they are all crooks. Like I said before, every
4 years we trade one turd for another turd. They both stink and we do our best to wipe them off our shoes.

Rangel's offense was to fail to include in his income taxes the imputed value of his use of a house/condo in a foreign country, and a technical violation of the NY City rent control code.
Delay was involved in criminal money laundering. Big Big BIG difference.

No you cant compare the two, Delay was a far more serious crime, I was not trying to compare them, only showing how neither incident sparked much group discussion because elected representatives behaving inappropriately has become such normal activity for both parties that we have become desensitized to it.

Boehner and Delay are not conservatives. I've already got Boehner's number on my speed dial and I've fired (can you say fired nowadays?) one email complaining to Boehner about some of his choices so far.
1. Stop crying, man up.
2. The Tea Party gave you your majority, why aren't any of them in leadership positions?
3. Upton has demonstrated lack of judgment, why is he being put in charge of Energy committee? (Upton was the GOP sponsor of the bill that outlawed incandescent light bulbs).
4. Ride herd on these idiots who fore go official duties to meet with lobbyists. People are watching.
5. I will be watching...

Fixed.
I know you don't like that these guys represent you as a conservative. But they do, literally. Same with Bush. Guys like YOU vote them into office. I know you're scared to call yourself a Republican. But if you're really an Independent...vote for Independent candidates ONLY. If you're really a conservative...vote for Conservative Party candidates ONLY. If you're really a Tea Bagg...uh, Partier...vote for Tea Pary candidates ONLY. Don't vote for guys like Brownback and then pretend like you had nothing to do with it.

Sir, I think I'd like to see you start an asymmetry/false equivalence thread. I get tired of hearing that they're all crooks and they're all alike. They ain't.
They're very different parties at their best and also at their worst.

Neither Bush was a conservative. I don't know what box of Wheaties you got your political knowledge in but get your money back.
A conservative would have never tried that back room amnesty like Bush did and his father never would have nominated a shot in the dark judge like Souter.
You went for the insult (tea...) so you lose the intellectual argument.

Galt is correct in his assertion that Bush 41 and 43, Boehner and a lot of the Republican leaders in the house are not conservative - in fact, they resisted as much as they could the influence of the members of their caucus who aligned themselves with the Tea Party. But, a lot of times you are faced with a choice of voting for someone who represents a majority of your beliefs/postions on issues or for someone who represents none of your beliefs/positions on issues. Sometimes, you are casting a vote against someone because of what they represent (the "hold-your-nose" or "lesser of two evils" vote).

FAIL.
It sure looks like you "went for the insult" yourself, old man. By your own rules (and in an amazingly short post!) you lost your own intellectual argument.
Now, teabaggers: They started out with tea bags. They wore tea bags. They mailed tea bags. They named themselves Teabaggers. I've posted the pictures several times before. What more do I need to do to make you face reality?
Don't get upset and start whining about reality. Don't act like you're the victim. Don't try any of that manufactured outrage bullshit on me. I'm not buying it, old man. You're feeble attempt to illicit sympathy is transparent. You're lame attempt to claim victory and quickly quit is laughable. No sympathy for you or your kind. I imagine that somewhere in your past someone told you to, "Read a book!" and you did. You read several. But the sad thing is you either read the wrong books or misread the right books. So sad. All fail.

By your (crazy-ass) thinking Ronald Reagan wasn't a conservative either! Ronald Reagan raised taxes and ballooned the debt. And we all know that conservatives would never never never do that. Okay, so now that we're in bizarro world where none of the Republican presidents are conservatives...what are they? They must be LIBERALS! Ronald Reagan was a liberal! And Fox news says that liberals are just socialists in disguise...and socialists are just communists in disguise...this is all starting to make sense...just like when Glenn Beck draws on the chalkboard. Ronald Reagan was a pinko Commie!!! LOL
