She needs "a few more minutes" to get ready ...
I’ve periodically had issues with providers who need “a few more minutes” when I show up at their incalls, and from comments in other threads I’m not alone in this – so I’d like to ask for some input on how to handle this problem.
And before you go off on me for being impatient, consider that it really is a problem. A man sitting alone in his car for ten, twenty, thirty minutes outside a hotel draws unwanted attention – guests notice, the staff notices, and there’s the concern that someone will call hotel security or LE to report it as suspicious activity, because it is suspicious. So aside of being annoying/boring to sit in a parked car for a long time (especially in summer), it really is a security/discretion issue.
If the provider tells you in advance, you can set a later time and find someplace more discreet to wait. Or if they tell you it’ll be half an hour, you can drive off and come back later. But this usually happens when you arrive on site (after setting a time), sitting in your car waiting for the room number, and the girls who do this will say “just a few more minutes” rather than 15-30, so you’re pinned down.
So the question is: What have you done when this happened to you? How did you pass the time? How long did you wait before you bailed out?
I’ll toss in a request as well: when you write reviews, please mention the TCB. A lot of reviews I see describe the session but say nothing of how a provider handles making/keeping appointments. It would be good to know when a provider is careless about this, as the ones who are reliable and on-time deserve more business.

Answer: "It depends..."
John, to answer your question, "how do you handle it", there are two issues to handle: wait itself, and the unwanted attention you might attract; and your frustration (and possibly anger).
Before the appointment itself, especially if you've never seen her, do your homework. I'd be far more tolerant of a lady who gives top-notch GFE, than a high-volume skank to whom you're just another John, pun entirely intended. There's a reason the latter is late: she's just finished shoving her last customer out the door. No doubt, she's a clock watcher as well, but she didn't check the clock the last 10 minutes of pounding away.
Check out the SNATCH. The ones who post daily, day after day: high-volume. Another indication, although not foolproof: duration of appointment. The higher the percentage of BNGs, quickies, and 30-minute sessions she has, the more likely she's high-volume.
Quid pro quo: you're just another john? She's just another skank. Set your limit; then text her back, "you have __ minutes before I drive."
(As an aside, one of my faves is routinely late. I can count on it; we once joked about it. Why do I put up with her? For what I get in return, the wait is more than worth it.)
I'd also recommend you text them just before you turn the key in your car ignition (never while driving - safety first): "On my way. Be there in __ minutes." Why? Several reasons. First, you're doing a comms check -- confirming your 'phone and hers are both working. (Additional benefit: If she's the type to use the excuse, "my 'phone died," you've just deprived her of her BS excuse.) Second -- some of these ladies have been "stood up" all too many times -- you're confirming that the appointment is "on", and you're serious about it; third, shit happens -- you're giving yourself an "out" if you have a fender bender or a run-in with Castle Hills' Finest en route; finally -- and most important --, you're giving them an opportunity to inform you whether they indeed need a few more minutes. You have a better opportunity to delay or divert and kill time.
Courtesy is a two-way street: you give it (by texting you're en route), then you have a right to expect it in return. If she doesn't ask for more time, you text you've arrived, and she fails to reply within, say three minutes, that's inexcusable. When she finally replies, let her know, "I got tired waiting, I jerked off, and I feel much better now. Have a nice day."
You make an excellent point about attracting unwanted attention, sitting in a parked car. I recently had a lady keep me waiting 30 minutes (long story). Poor planning on her part, as it turned out (I so noted in my review); but I've seen her previously, she's a sweetie, so I decided to wait. Fortunately, the hotel to which she was en route was upscale, had a bar on the ground floor, and I killed time enjoying an adult beverage. You may not have that luxury, so if you decide to wait, I'd recommend driving away and stopping at the corner Valero to fill the gas tank.
Oh, back to my fave: yes, I can count on her being late. I can also count on her returning the same respect and courtesy I give her. I know "need another 10 minutes, honey" well before I'm at her incall.

Hate to see this happen to anyone, but ... way many elements co-exist in the "timing" equation ...
Providers need to consider that:
-- many hobbyists are trying to fit in a session within a specific time block due to very RW conditions like he is taking a limited time break from work or home schedule and thus his "window of opportunity" is very time sensitive. Even if not RW, he may have other things going which is why he set the appointment time he set.
-- even when the hobbyist's "time block" is unconstrained, that doesn't mean his "patience block" is totally free-style. (When I plan to go to the cinema, for example, my expectation is that the film will start around that certain time, less the ads, coming attractions, etc)
Hobbyists need to consider that:
-- providers don't always have the same business standards that many business people share or expect
-- most providers have very RW issues and constraints to deal with on top of providing and those issues most often pop up unexpectedly and inconvenience or disrupt planned sessions
-- way too often a provider's schedule may not be very flexible and if transportation, traffic, etc. issues arise on her end, or on his end, and/or a session starts or ends outside the planned timeframe, well, it's like when the doctor's office schedule mishap happens. Very easy for the hobbyiest to be running late or the provider running late, but no easy options to "fit in" by sticking around in the waiting room.
Like the o.p., I have over a hobbying career time and time again suffered the parking lot shuffle and past couple of weeks one of those was after we'd reworked the original appointment time by 45 minutes. And during that shuffle I was given the "give me five minutes," then the "just a liitle while" responses, etc., so more than 90 minutes past our original plan, I bailed and let the lady know we'd have to try another time" as I needed to be elsewhere very shortly.
What goes through a hobbyiest's mind during that extended delay will definitely have a bearing on his potential future plan with that provider...and possibly with other providers.
-- does this provider's potential for fun continue to measure up to his expectations? Was she disrespecting him? Overbooking? Having issues with "management?" Was she even at the incall, yet?
In my case, the one is still on my TDL (but lower) and I've already engaged with several other providers in the two weeks since that incident, AND run into the same issues yet again earlier this week!
All of the above goes with the hobby territory and has been discussed over and over both in the public and in the gender only forums.
No easy answers and few easy solutions.
But for the folks who are to make/spend money and to have fun, we just have to keep trying.
Both sides of the equation must do our research, act accordingly and keep on smiling!
Happy Hobbying!

A tactful, balanced reply, CK. And as you say, no easy answers. What I offered is a mitigation strategy, by no means foolproof.

It would seem that alot of the lower price scale / higher volume women overbook, and so end up with having to rush a client out as they have one or two waiting out in the parking lot. No doubt they do that because of the high number of no shows or cancellations. I always text when I'm enroute and give them an updated ETA. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it does not.
It would be most helpful if instead of getting repeated generic "i need a few more minutes" texts to try and keep you on the hook, that she was able to say "its gonna be 22 mins, can you wait"?

It is suspicious, but there is no reason for it. You don't have to sit alone in the car for any length of time. Like others said, if there is a hotel bar, go have a drink. If there is not, drive down the street and go into any store. If its late night, go to the nearest fast food place and get a dollar item and chill.

The only true "defense strategy" is to stick with those providers one absolutely knows are the "genuine got it down pat" gold standard crew, which requires absolute gold standard research by the hobbyist.
So, in virtually every instance, the blame for missed connections must be shared by both side in many instances.
Of course, that means many gents must forgo trying on many ladies new to the crew... which most of us know just ain't gonna happen.
Which is those of us with time to spare and absolute urges quite often have Plans B, C & D. Which quite often means hitting up the snatch thread (or backpage!) and quite often just taking a random roll of the dice and hoping that "luck of the draw" will not roll craps.
Even gents with "private resources" come up dry quite often.

I've been guilty of running late before. Though for me that has more to do with getting distracted with things at home than being a revolving door.
Since I have a private incall, I've found that leaving the front door unlocked and telling my gentleman caller to let themselves in and help themselves to a drink while I finish whatever primping I need to works pretty well.

I try to just be grateful that she's taking the extra time to wipe the last dude's ball sweat off the comforter (I hope) and pretend that I'm on the phone if I see anyone checking me out.

true. this is an inexact game and sometimes r/w stuff causes problems. just gotta roll with it. some practical suggestions. Go hang out at a nearby fast food or heb/big box parking lot till you get the all clear. And most important have a plan b cum dump on deck.

This is a very interesting topic, women should be ready by the time of the appointment. I am not high high volume so I guess it's easier for me to be ready on time. One thing I hate is when guys show up 30 or more mins early when my hair is half fixed lol. Or call me to see if I'm available because they are around the corner wtf.

Bush Pilot, not every lady who posts in the SNATCH is high volume. Even if she posts every day doesn't mean that she will get appts every day.
