UT Football
Season ticket holder here for the last 8 years. They jacked the rates up and heaven help you if you are just now getting into buying season tickets. Their donation demand from The Longhorn Foundation is crazy. I got good not great seats even with the goal line and fairly low. 700.00 per seat to buy in now. I'm grandfathered at 150.00 a seat. However if I ask to upgrade, which I did they wanted 3,000.00 a seat at the 40 yard line. That's before the cost of the tickets. All this and an unwatchable team. I predicted they could be as bad as 4-8 or as good as 8-4. They better beat Rice or the stadium might burn down.

I was able to keep my upper deck seats at $500/each for the Foundation plus the 200% increase in ticket prices. It's gotten ridiculous, but now that they are going to sell beer this fan base is gonna get rowdier if the team sucks.

Good move on starting Heard. He should of played last year. We need to show some D against California. They say Cali's QB will be a 1st rounder when he goes.

Starting Heard was way overdue. Not saying he will be anywhere near VY, but in better shape than with Swoopes.
I've read that Locksley has the better arm and mechanics than Swoopes or Heard.
Anyone in the know, know?

I don't know about Locksley but I heard Buechel coming in next year is the true QB of the future. It was just f*cking dumb redshirting Heard last year. Swoops is the worst QB I've ever seen not only at Texas but on any major team. Hopefully they can make him a TE next year and can salvage his college career.

Charlie Strong had to come in and clean house. He kicked off two starting tackles from the team and with no experience on the OL the season was going to be bad anyway. I think Redshirting Heard was an excellent idea. Maybe Heard wasn't ready to play QB at the time.

After watching Heard the last 2 games Shawn Watson ought to be hung. He didn't fit the spread offense he had drawn up and stunted Heard's growth. What a complete dumbass this guy is/was. Heard looks like the 2nd coming of Vince Young. He broke VY's record of total yards with 537 Saturday night. The more I think about it, Watson/Strong lived off Bridgewater and that great receiver at UL. Strong looks lost on D with Bedford which is troubling since he's a D guy. Look for Strong to be a D coordinator like Mulchamp at a good school in the next 2 years.

If Heard really is the second coming of VY, Strong is safe. Winning cures all.
Maybe Mack should be the new AD and bring back Muschamp who can eventually replace Strong.

Sixx- that wouldn't be a bad idea. But Mulchamp died at Florida. What makes us think he would be successful here? I see us at 1-5 after the OK game. We play 3 ranked teams in a row (OK St, TCU, OK). We really needed that Cal win. We might be able to win 1 of the next 3. That would of put us at 3-3 going into 5 easier games (K-St, IA ST, Kansas, WV, TX Tech) which we could win 3 or4. With Baylor the last game. If we are 1-5 we will never get into another bowl game this year and that might be it for Strong. Now if Heard continues to look like he did and the D continues to allow anything and everything Strong can dump The DC and buy another year.....maybe. But what's that say about him coming in here with Watson (lucky he had Bridgewater) and Bedford?

Heard played like he's been starting for years; something special about him...not just the obvious speed and poise...some of the deep outs he threw showed the kid's got surprising arm strength.

He's a little guy. Hope he stays healthy. It looked to me he got shook up after a run at ND and never came back in. He's one hit away from Swoops.

Will Muschamp is garbage right now. His Defense just gave up 411 rushing yards to a one dimensional LSU team. Why would Mack Brown want to be AD when he will have to kiss the Ass of the same Good Ol Boys who wanted him out.
It would be foolish of UT to get rid of Charlie Strong after his second year. This is his first full recruiting class. These Freshman maybe making a lot of mistakes and inconsistent right now but they have heart and they are ballin. If anyone needs to be run out of town its the upperclassman who are letting True and Red-shirt Freshman take their starting position. There is no way UT should have to play so many Freshman on Defense.
I can't wait to see how many players from Strong's first recruiting class end up getting drafted. Louisville had 14 players (4 in 2014 and 10 in 2015) drafted in the past two drafts and these were Charlie Strong players. It's obvious Charlie Strong know how to evaluate and develop talent. Anyone who thinks Charlie Strong is not a good Coach obviously don't know football. I'm amazed at so many disloyal and fair weather UT fans that I run into.
If UT had a High Profile aka "White" Head Coach we wouldn't be talking about firing him after his second season.

I think the ND game opened his eyes because he started sliding in the Cal game.

We need to beat OK state at home tomorrow. I don't see Charlie getting run out of town till the AD is named and then depending on who it is, if he has a great coach already to follow him. From what I understand they are comfortable with the interim AD for this and next year. That will give Charlie 3 of the 5 years signed in his contract. I could see the new guy giving him 1 more year which would be 4 years. He damn well better be in the 9+ wins a year area solid by then. I'll be there excited tomorrow hoping Heard can generate half the excitement he did last week. J Gray needs to run the ball 15 times tomorrow. So far that's been a big disappointment. I sure was hoping for him and all our sakes that 5 star recruit would get his yards this year and go on to get drafted.
