Default Windows 10

Installed it today. No issues with the install (upgrade). So far so good. Takes a lot of getting used to though.

Anyone else tried it?

I have been thinking about getting Windows 10, but I am waiting for some feedback on the pros and cons. So far it looks like 50/50.

Same with other upgrades.

New machines have it.
Replace Win 7? Waiting till late fall and we'll strip each machine down first and wipe the drive.

I had been using Windows 8/8.1 with my laptop that has a touch screen (I rarely use) so my upgrade was complimentary. Download went well and operation is going smoothly thus far. No complaints. I prefer W10 to W8/8.1.

The windows 7 upgrade has a feature called "reset", which formats the drive and installs a fresh copy of Windows 10. But you have to do the upgrade first so that it gets activated then you can do the reset. I did that on one of my machines yesterday.

So far I like it. Much better than 8.1!

I upgraded it on my home computer. Everything works fine. I liked Windows 7 a little bit better, but that's because I knew where to find everything. However, 10 is much, much better than 8.1. I need to try some tethered shooting on it and then I'll upgrade the computer at my studio too if it all works fine.

My computer is currently running Windows 8.1 and I want to try Windows 10 but like a few others I am waiting to here more about it. I have a lot of software that is designed to run on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 so my concern is how well will it work with Windows 10.

I have 7 64 bit. I like it.
Windows 10 is Cloud based. Not for me.

Because it is no longer supported and hasn't been for a while?

Don't use anything cloud based with it then. You don't have to any more than you did with 8.1 or 7 or even vista. Think of them as extras that are built in instead of extras that you might have to purchase separately.

I still don't use Onedrive because it sucks compared to services like Sugarsync. Yes, there are benefits to Onedrive, but nothing that matters to me or that enhances my computing experience.

So far I have only found one program that I can't get to run on Windows 10 even though it should and it does for others. I'm working with the developers of Shipworks to find out why.

Been using Win 10 for about a year now off and on. Insider program.
The GUI is a much better interface for end users.
It is faily simple to turnoff all the cloud features. Although the cloud is the future of computing.
It is much faster than win 7/8 on the same hardware.
It uses less resources than older versions. I am working on getting it to work on a Rasberry PI that Microsoft gave me.
If you are on Win 8/8.1 move to win 10 now.
If you are on win 7 wait a little for some of the bugs to be cleaned.Microsoft has done a great job of working with beta testers to fix things before launch. It is still Microsoft.

If you are using XP, i think that was a joke, move off now. It is a huge risk to continue to use XP.
