Default Persecuted Christian Bakers Found Lying

It seems that the entire story has been one big lie. We've been hearing about persecution, but the story was false. They were not fined for refusing service. They were fined for revealing personal info about the gay couple in question.

More religious turds found out to be squirming liars. What a surprise.

The bakers published the personal information of the gay couple?

Wow, is that anything like when the gay activists sued to publish the names of all of the Proposition 8 donors in California?

I guess what goes around comes around, huh?

I support equal marriage rights. But don't act like opponents did something beyond the pale, mope.

I found both of the lesbians when this thing became news....on Facebook and Link'dIn. They did get married after all. I guess they didn't have a cake.

Hillary lied, Bill lied, Obama lied, Biden lied, Pelosi lied, Reid lied, care to step up and pummel them verbally?

There is a huge difference between suing to find out the donors to a political cause and private citizens publishing private information about another private citizen.

No, there isn't.

The "private citizens" joined in the public debate when they sued the bakers. They could have walked out the door and gone to any one of a hundred other bakeries, but they wanted to make an example of them. They have to deal with the consequences of their actions like everyone else.

The Prop 8 supporters wanted to publish the names and addresses of all of the donors who opposed Prop 8. Ostensibly to open a "dialogue" with them. In reality to threaten them and expose them to potential violent payback. That was never anything more than a not-so-lightly veiled threat.

Since they had to pay for their actions, this statement was deemed incorrect by a judge.

What judge" It was a commissioner.

And the commissioner didn't say anything about my "statement" or, for that matter, about publishing the private information of the gay couple.

Read the end of the updated article:
-----------------------------------------------
While earlier reports suggested that the Kleins were specifically ordered to pay for the sharing of the personal information, Raw Story notes that [Obviously, we have amended this article to reflect that]:

An earlier version of this article contained a significant error that resulted from failure to distinguish the difference between the agency’s recommendation and the commissioner’s final ruling. The bakers were not, as previously reported, punished for threats by others against the couple, as the agency had recommended. They were ordered by the commissioner to pay damages to the couple for emotional harm caused by their unlawful discrimination. We regret the error, and we would like to thank Eugene Volokh for clarifying the distinction
-----------------------------------------------

Got that?

The $135K was for not making them a cake.

It had nothing to do with publishing their names on the baker's Facebook page.

So pretty much your ENTIRE first post that started this thread was ... hmm, what's the word I'm looking for?... Oh yeah - WRONG!

Thank you for wasting everybody's time.

This is all a side note to the facts; a gay couple chose this bakery knowing that they opposed the idea of "gay marriage" and hoping that they would respond in some way. They did and the gay alliance of oppressors took them to court (or through the convoluted legal process). The gay alliance probably had plenty of money, plenty of support, and knew ahead of time how the commission stood on the issue. They set up this couple as a tool to get what they wanted through the system and too bad if they got hurt badly. After all, they're breeders right. They get what they deserve by not bowing down.

I think his point is that the entire thing, not surprisingly, was completely misrepresented both by the right wing media, and the knuckledraggers around here. The bakers got rightfully bitch-slapped by the fact-finder in the legal proceeding.
