If you could...
I was thinking about something I would have liked to have done as a summer job when I was younger. Everytime I go downtown or see a show, article or something that has to do with bike messengers I wish I had tried that just once. I'm sure it has it's parts like anything where it isn't all it's cracked up to be but still. I think it would have been fun.
I was curious as to whether any of you wish you had tried a job when you were younger that you
thought would be fun? Or did you and it wasn't what you thought it would be.
Also if you could stop doing what you do now and earn a living at something right now what profession would you pick?
Mine would be graphic arts as I love logos. A close second would be a male escort for ladies but wouldn't we all pick that lol.

My roomate in college was one of those guys who rented Umbrellas and chairs at Daytona Beach while he was in high school. Good money, you get to work on the beach, and enjoy the scenery...... That woulda been pretty nice to do that at that age for sure.
As far as Current type things:
Cake Job -Bullpen catcher for any Major League baseball team. Had a couple guys I used to play baseball with that have or currently do this..... you sit on a bucket catching/warming up pitchers in the bullpen, you make around half of the league minimum (which is around $250k) there is no pressure, you get great seats to every game, and most of the guys on the road pick up the check at dinner/bars! BBkid.... can I get an "Amen"?

nope can't say I do, but I agree with JaD.. the year Minute Maid Park opened (when it was still Enron Field) and I was one of the "hype girls" you know the chicks who come out before the game and jump around, do cartwheels, and throw free stuff to the audience. By far the most fun I've ever had at work. Stadium jobs are the best.

My summer job in college was working at an airport in a resort town. If Friday & Sunday evenings there taught me anything, it was this...
If a woman is attractive enough, gents will pay GOOD money to get her from where she is...to where she wishes to be!!
But I digress...
To answer the question...I'd finish up my course work to get a multi-engine, commercial pilot's license. Not to work for one of the "big boyz" but to make runs in & out of places like that that.
Flying the plane would sure beat the chit out of fueling the plane & chasing weekend pilots around trying to collect landing fees...

Bullpen Catcher... wow, never knew!! That's awesome!
I'm a geek, so my idea job would be working at a game design company in a think tank, sitting around coming up with ideas for new games.

EXACTLY my point!!!
Joe Paterno thinks Strech has been in the game a long ass time!!! How many managers has Mr Suba seen run in and out of there? How many uniform changes? And yet.... probably the same bucket he sat on when he started on day one!

Now that's funny.

Naw Dallas they tore it down a few years ago. It's a shame. I did the plumbing on the ride "the swat". Now that was a neat job to work behind the scenes of everything and see a ride built. Very interesting.
Thats something I wish I had done, work one summer at Astroworld.
