I recently received a text from a client that has since become my first regular...He wanted something I was unable to provide at that particular time, and so I referred him to eccie and a few of the ladies that had really great reviews.

One particular "lady" was contacted, and she emailed me for verification. This gentleman is as sweet as can be, and is a WONDERFUL client to be associated with. I verified him, and she thanked me.

Unfortunately for him, she commenced to go on and on about how I was not a good reference because I had recently, and I do quote, (LOL!) "reinvented" myself!

Well, This not only upset a man I now consider a friend, but it hurt me! How many other clients have I seen that she is babbling this trash to?

If moving from the deep south country on a farm and going to church every time the doors were open, breeding dogs and horses, and raising and feeding chickens, cows, pigs, goats, etc to moving to the big city after a divorce is reinventing my self...then YES! I've reinvented myself!

I have a feeling though, based on my clients full text and conversations since, that she was referring to me changing up emails etc to get clients, because I suck...(gentleman...I do, LOL! I like them hard, long and thick...but I'll suck whatever you give me!)

Now...that said, who else (gentleman) have had to hear that BS about a former or current provider while playing with a different provider? What is your feeling on that? Is it just me, or do you find that BS caddy?

Ladies? What's your thought on this? How would you feel if the trustworthy client and friend let you in on that info?

Luckily for me, he knows me and what I'm willing to do and how well I'll do it...so no harm/no foul! But what if it had been another new girl on the block having that mess spread about her...and no one to really vouch that she is a good provider and is legit?

I don't think it is good business. I actually had been trying to see a provider for a couple of years but couldn't meet up. One day I set a time with a very well known provider and very well reviewed from the Nola area and we got to talking and she went off on the one I've been wanting to see. She was saying pretty bad stuff about her. Well I saw both and let me tell you I will NEVER go back to the one who talked shit. If I have a pretty good relationship with a provider and ask her what she thinks of the other or if she knows anything about her then yeah maybe so if it is legit but don't spread gossip if you don't know the whole truth it will only make you look bad.

My "friend" has been most kind about the BS....and still wants to see me! Obviously, he didn't feed into that negative mess...He's a genuine man...that just happens to like playing....that makes me VERY happy =)

I try not to waste my time or energy worrying about any of this stuff. In my business competitors bad mouth me, so what, I shrug my shoulders and move on. I chose not to bad mouth my fellow colleagues, just me, usually I do not because the fact is I do not know them that well. In my experience the trash talk never got me to buy something and so I chose not to do it my life.

I cannot control what other people say or do, all I can control is how I react to it. When it does not bother me I am a happier person for it, just me. The person that feels the need to trash talk others usually is not in a very happy place. And typically it does not hurt me in the pocket book.

When I am trying to make the sale I talk about my good points and my experience in the field and what I have actually accomplished. If they choose to hire someone else I wish them all luck in the world and hope their endeavor is fruitful. I have no ill will towards others, just me.

I think your reputation is in tact and you will do just fine.

That being said, it has been my experience that ladies are more ferocious than men generally, not all. And you ladies will talk some shit about other ladies, I just react letting the lady know I am not into gossip and trash talk, she usually stops, if not I move on, just me.

I am very sorry to hear that someone did that to you, and like Dallas, I have not heard anything negative about you. People can be cruel in this world, and here lately I am learning they can be down right mean and hateful in this business. Words can hurt so much. Just keep your head up and continue giving the great service that you have been giving!!

Awww honey pie, don't give that chick another thought. She negatively advertised herself the moment she started mouthing off her OPINION. No one asked her anyway. From what I can tell, you're a lovely lady, and apparently your client can see that on his own. Something similar happened to me. Since then, I've not referred anyone her way and still won't.

Kudos on the starting over! Divorce can be rough...glad to see you around.

I love how supportive ladies like Dallas, Lil Red, Nina, and April, as well as others, are of each other on this board. As long as you continue to provide great service, I'm sure you'll do just fine on this board, and slander will be the last thing you'll have to worry about.

Couldn't have said it better. Repeat customers in any business is a sign of great service.

Keep your head up, listen to Dallas and Lilred and you can't go wrong!! They are two of the finest women on here and are always willing to help the other ladies. I admire the way you girls look after one another. It says a lot about your personality and character.

Even if you do have your negative opinion about another woman's work, it is best that you keep your mouth shut on the subject.

My recommendation as you are new is to keep too much chatting with clients to a minimum. You may be his ATF for now, he may be your "regular" today, but don't get too attached. This might seem like it's an apparent method, but we all slip up sometimes.

Sorry to hear that she did that!! I can't stand when you get the girls that when you need to call them for a reference they just blow you off and either say no they have never seen him or just hang up.. If providers worked together more and didn't bad mouth one another business could become much easier. What they say and do will come back on them.

You ladies and gents are sooooooo fantastic!!!

I've learned already through this experience...let it roll like water!

I've been so lucky to have such awesome clients who are kind, sweet and do NOT entertain such foolishness.

That said... I'm so happy to have such a great group of people to learn from, and have fun with WINK!
