I love to see the little crocuses and snowdrops peeping out!!
Then the tiny daffodils, the small ones are the neatest.
When the tulips come out, we have our contented fat woodchuck who goes to each flower, bends them down with his paw, and happily eats the petals. His spring treat, I guess!
Best of all, when the baby leaves of willow, quaking aspen and oak begin to grow out, you can see the sun shining right through them on bright mornings. Oh, what joy!
Thanks for starting this thread, Amber.

Omg I have a friendly woodchuck who comes out to eat in the grass all the time...its so cute to watch him... but I would not be very happy if I caught him in my flower beds... but he has been good so far and has been hanging around a few yrs... I'm sure he is loving these great days also, out in the sun munching away lol
Yes great thread amber... nice days bring out the happy in us all : ) Xoxoxoxoxo

I dread to mention something happy on this Springtime thread here for fear someone will find a way to take it into a cruel and vile direction. Hope the mods will step in this time, just for Spring's sake.
Once saw a most exquisitely carved head of Queen Nefertiti in honey colored alabaster, with the sun shining through the translucent stone on a spring day. It was just a magical moment, the work of someone so many thousands of years ago brought to life, almost. The word "Amber" always evokes that same mood in me, of sunshine filtering through warm amber, lighting it up, bringing it to life. So, it is fitting that Amber began this spring thread.
I am sure Kilgore Trout can add some excellent poems by ee cummings and William Carlos Williams [Red Wheelbarrow?] that reflect the springtime mood?
