I truly believe with the change to e.com, and what ever BGFE are doing in their up date today it will become a much more active on here.
Have asked for a page to break away from the upstate page to be a" Hudson Valley" page as witnessed by the action on Bgfe and E.com.
When I originally asked Tbone for the upstate page to break away from NYC their was No traffic from W/NY what so ever. It is simple evolution.
The Pioneers moved west, We move east LOL !!
I have been beating the drum for Eccie, how ever to get individuals to come over it a huge task.

from Albany....
And this quote from a thread by Brooksbuttons, asking about maybe a road trip to Albany.
So is it time for a new area?
Would we have to rename upstate if we split upstate?
Where to make the split?
PS: please read both threads before reply. Thanks

mmm very nice. Now would it be better for her if upstate split to two new areas. WNY and mmmm well that would be on where to split. As in if syc. was not part of buff and roch. That would be Upstate.

I just think it's a bad idea overall to add a third section to NY. Take a look at the NYC section:

The date/times refer to the last post in each section as of 15 minutes ago. Date/times in bold indicate no activity in that section in over a week, and as you can see, in some cases it is well over a month, or not at all.
Do we really need an "Eastern NY" section that will barely be used? It's not like someone looking for advice in Albany isn't getting help right now.

Why not indeed. I think they thought NYC would generate more traffic in their own section. As we can plainly see, that has not happened.

So my ????? would they come over if there was another area?
And How many have already?
mmmm Rollcall for "Hudson Valley" members in a new thread in order?
and it would be nice if that rollcall was started from a member that is known in that area.
It was asked in "ask the mods". maybe more replys in coed if done right.

Many of us came from another board as problems grew on ASPD. Even before the plug was pulled. In the area iggy wants, uses e.com and bgfe more than ECCIE. And there looks to be problems with both. Would it not be good to have a home more to there liking. And hope they come. I am sure a few would help others find ECCIE. As a few helped us find ECCIE.
A mod asked me to look at ECCIE, then I told a few. They told a few more.
If growing makes us a target. It would sooner or later anyways. Take a look at Today's Registrations. Its growing again. Just like it did in 2009.

How about renaming the existing section to "NYC & Eastern NY".
If traffic picks up, there will be data to help decide on splitting them.

As someone who lives downstate but not in the city, I think a Hudson Valley section would benefit us all.
NYC itself is just a different animal. There are so many providers on eros and backpage, agencies and mps that it is hard for NYC to be active. NYC is just to generic anyway and should be broken down by borough and even by different areas of Manhattan (upper east side, midtown, etc.)
I am some what active on the Upstate board because I travel there for business but Upstate is obviously Rochester-centric. Nothing wrong with that but I have posted reviews for my location in both the Upstate and NYC forums and was told by members that I reviewed in the wrong forum. Where else can I go? Why would providers from these areas post here then?
My solution is maintain one Upstate board- one discussion, locker room, sandbox sections but add a Hudson Valley (or whatever you want to call) prov ads and review sections.
I think this is an opportunity that would benefit us all because where there is activity, there are provider tours. Down here we have a lot providers who pass through that never heard of eccie or thought it was only a Texas board only. I have been asked by providers about touring locations because of my business travels and so many of them are surprised to hear of my suggestion of buf/roch/syr.
Providers would have a perfect touring line to advertise on this board for Buffalo-Roch-Syr-Albany-Newburgh/Poughkeepsie-White Plains-Stamford,CT then right into NYC. That helps us all.

Why not a Hudson Valley, Albany, and points North section. If memory serves me correctly these 3 areas are usually under represented or serviced by a lot of UTRs.

Well here is the thing. I live in the HV, but get into NYC often. If Ecci doesnt build a place for all points just north of NYC.. take it up to and past Albany is fine, then no one is going to come. If you build it mongers will eventually show up. Personally i get queasy visiting escorts.com because of the problems with the feds. Who needs that? I am not sure how the new format with Bgfe will play out but its still the only place for us to go hunting as of right now, aside from BackPage... and we all know how skanky BP can be. There is Utopia Guide but they are really a down state board. CityVibe is good for NYC but zero for the Hudson Valley as well. And as of right now literally everything i look at in Ecci is for Western NY state, places that might as well be Alaska for me.

I seem to be missing the point here. Is there an issue with BGFE? It seems to have a lot of HV traffic. It’s not the greatest format. The only reason we upstate people are here is because ASPD folded. Was HV active on ASPD? I see Sara has banner ads on BGFE which she doesn’t do here, so it must have some utility as an ad venue. What would having a separate section for HV bring to the mix?

Many of us came here before ASPD was unplugged. Very few of us have gone back to the rebirth of. And there is nothing wrong with setting up to compete with another board.
