Default I broke out my online dictionary for this one!

The more I read the more I am convinced, many do NOT know the true definition of up-selling. Let's discuss!

Upselling (sometimes "up-selling") is a sales technique whereby a seller induces the customer to purchase more expensive items, upgrades, or other add-ons in an attempt to make a more profitable sale. Upselling[1] usually involves marketing more profitable services or products but can be simply exposing the customer to other options that were perhaps not considered. (A different technique is cross-selling in which a seller tries to sell something else.) In practice, large businesses usually combine upselling and cross-selling to maximize profit. In doing so, an organization must ensure that its relationship with the client is not disrupted.

In restaurants and other similar settings, upselling is commonplace and an accepted form of business. In other businesses (e.g. car sales..prostitution..), the customer’s perception of the attempted upsell can be viewed negatively and impact the desired result.

Okay, from what I gather, whether it's advertised or not, up-selling is still upselling.

"With upsell, it is time to get dressed and walk out - never to return. You can be nice about it, but in your heart you know when the situation has gone badly. So let you big head do the thinking, and get out while you can - as fast as you can. Leave the money, it doesn't matter because you already know you have been cheated as a man. Write a review about the problem, she has it coming and all of us need to know so that we can avoid shopping at that store." -JR

Sooo, JR... hhmmmm. Care to recant ^^this^^ statement??

You want frys with that shake? (cross selling.........Or a cheesy pickup line)

For 25 cents more you can make it a large (up selling)

So adding greek to the order could be considered cross selling. Needing to go from 30min to 60min to get it would be upselling.

And, trying to add Howard to your group would be considered Co-selling...?

Isn't this splitting fine hairs? The dictionary definition clearly states that the upsell (accepted terminology for what we call it) is frowned upon in prostitution. I am not going to pay more to DATY/DATY. I would rather find a provider who is going to enjoy it rather than one who let's it happen to make more cash.

Well, was it really a special if one still paid upsell fees?? Or were the upsell fees just deducted from the donation amount in lieu of the special??

Very good thoughts, but no I do not care to recant.

For example, we go to a fine restaurant and on the menu are all of the prices for each item. One orders a meal that comes with a salad, but without drink or desert.

Then when they bring the meal they bring a drink you didn't order; you send it back. OK, no charge.

But they bring you a desert and they want to charge you for it and will not let you sent it back. No, I don't think so.

It is about honesty with the customer. If a service was promised, then the seller has an obligation to provide what was promised. I have no problem with paying more, provided I have a choice.

What has happened is some girls don't want to deliver what is promised in the first place without extra money after the original price has been paid. Can you blame some guys for wanting their money back?

The problem comes when you pay up front for services that are yet to delivered. I know sometimes the guys cheat the girls, or run out without paying. What is she to do except protect herself by taking payment upfront?

Then what are the guys to do when is is being cheated by paying upfront?
At that point he knows he is cheated. What to do when you are next to a cheat? That is the question we all ask ourselves. Is there a physical danger, maybe, maybe not.

But the big question is: will the fucking you hope to get be worth the fucking you have already gotten?

There are too many women who need to make a decent living for their families for a guy to put up with being treated badly.

Likewise, there are too many guys who are total jerks plus those guy who receive satisfaction from having power over others. Avoid the cheats, pimps, power hungry guys, and the guys who enjoy hurting women. The desire for of all of that is the desire for power and control over others; none of the ladies need that. The girls who fall for this are the ones who are too stupid to run their own affairs, so the trust and turn their self control over to the guys who will use them - and eventually throw them away. This is very much like some of the guys I knew in the Marine Corps who where ready to retire and worried about going out into the civilian world where there was no one to tell them what to do, pathetic.

A lady must learn first to protect herself, so take the money upfront. But just because one has already received payment does't mean that the promises made, or implied, should not be fulfilled.

Trust is important, and it works both ways.

What do you do when you get the feeling in your gut that the guy you just met is not to be trusted. Are you in such a dire need for money that you will risk continuing the encounter? Listen to your gut, it may be the most important decision of your life.

Years ago I would trust everyone until they proved not to be trustworthy. Years later I trusted no one until they prove they can be trusted. The later has served me much better.

In the drive through at Mc Donalds

Me: Yes I would like an apple pie please?
Voice from the window: Would you like 2 for a dollar?
Me: Yes I'll take 2

Bottom line: Upsell!

The apple pie example is an upsell, sure. But you can still just get the one pie....alot of hobby upsells giv you alternative where you pay for a whole pie but only get half of one.

Its very difficult in this wod of le scrutiny to spell out expectations on both sides up front. You have to trust...and most of us can tell when that trust has been broken.

Very short and very good. Your brief note is better than my long winded attempt.

Its simply the difference between the definition of a word and its common usage.

If the steak comes with the vegetable medley but the steak is extra, that is an (negative) upsell in its common usage (imo). If I order a salad and upon further reflection and recommendation of the waitress, I then get the steak then that would be an (positive) upsell.

But if I was to upsell...
Buy me some new VS and I'll ride yo face harder??...

Buy me some ass implants and I'll send ya butt selfies twice a week!???..

Buy me a beachfront condo and receive VIP pussy vouchers??...

Too much? What?! My golden hoohah is worth it! Besides, If I'm going to upsell, It will be worth my while.
