Just asking since several folks asked me if I had heard any explanation. I didn't even know the thread was ended until I got the question. But I volunteered to ask.

When have you ever seen Mokoa explain when he closes threads?

I'm pretty sure that he will open it once hooktards start begging him to open it and/or the freebies start drying out.

Isn't the last name of this site Information Exchange! Aren't the owners trying to generate hits, which increase the value of their ads?

In 22 months the thread generated almost a half million hits more hits than even the guidelines!

Im sure there is a reason this thread was closed. I think it was one of the more useful threads out there and used it at least weekly.

I have PM'd him and told him how closing this thread affects business for MANY local ladies. Some derive as much as 70 to 80% of their income from there and they have never broken a rule. As I also pointed out, a lot of the infractions were being caused by travelers and not the ones that used the thread day in and day out.

It is really unfortunate that people's lives are being affected because of the choice of some. Whispers posted his original post about SNATCH infractions at 8:10 and in 2 hours, one of our main ways of communicating with clients was completely gone.

I know that many rules were broken there but show me a forum where they are not? Are we closing down all of them?

I see how it can be a Moderators nightmare having to always check in and keep things tidy there. I guess with a ruthlessly heavy hand people would stay in line.

I'm going to get an explanation. I see no harm in the thread and no valid reason for it's closing.

If it has anything to do with being too much work to moderate, then we can put in more mods. There's always good people willing to volunteer.

"Hate" is a pretty strong word requiring emotional investment in my opinion.

heck..... I don't know him enough to dislike him as a person.

I just think that after all this time he would have risen to the occasion or got out of the way....
