San Antonio slow or Can't find Providers
mods if this thread is too similar to others merge.
first, I usually get the crap comments about being WK, PW, etc. (just happen to like women unlike some here).
This is about Providers even more than about hobbyists. It's your business, we just come to play.
All I've been hearing for months is how SA is slow, ncns and everything else.
if your a provider or hobbyist with issues on board, you should know why your having problems.
Everybody else: like everyone else I've complained about the same couple of providers advertising in "snatch". Most comments are they must be high volume, desperate, issues, etc. (probably some fit)
But at least they tell their availability of hours and days. Some other providers also do a good job at this in their showcases or ads. A lot don't and it seems like a guessing game.
If your a successful provider and have all the business you want good for you, but if not why complain if no one can see you.
Because of RW challenges, some hobbyists and providers have floating schedules and can't, with to much notice, plan playtime. (A couple say I have a job, family, etc., this is when I'm available or I need a couple hours notice)
I for one, am like this, and know of others.
Between talking with hobbyists and providers and myself, I know of more than a few instances where people could have played and didn't because they can't connect.
Hobbyist and providers who NCNS deserve all they get, but if your not and want to HOBBY:
**Providers tell us specifically when your available either in showcases, calendars, ads, or something. And stop NCNS yourselves. (maybe you'll get more of the short notice agency or amp business)
**Hobbyists stop NCNS, giving providers reasons not to want to hobby here, and whatever games you play.
Maybe then the complaining can stop and play can resume.
There's providers and hobbyists here, we just need for them to connect.

Dear SMS,
Thank you for bringing this up. I for one, believe constant communication with my clientele is very important. I post my weekly ads but, throughout the week, since I don't ever "cold call/text" clients, I utilize the SNATCH section to let any interested party know when I do have some availability. Even though my business consists of 75-80% of repeat clientele, my regulars know if they see me posting there, I have SOMETHING, even if it is just one appointment available.
I find it very unfortunate that there is this perception that providers that post on SNATCH are high volume or "desperate". If there is an opportunity for some free and immediate marketing, more providers should take advantage of it without fear of being negatively judged. If more of us advertised there, hobbyists would have a clearer picture of their choices at the desired moment.
As for NCNS, that just leaves a horrible taste on everyone's mouth... Unlike the saying goes, time is NOT money. Money can be made, but time lost can never be regained.
Thoughts?
Camille

Interesting thread and comments above are quite accurate for many established hobbyists and many established providers. And I break my thoughts in twin with established people and lesser than established people.
Thing is, no matter how "established" one (hobbyist or provider) might be, all exist in the Real World, and all are subjected to the usual Real World issues and conditions. So, occasionally a very well established person will NCNS through no fault of his/her own. Occasionally means just that, once in a great while. Anything more frequent than once in a great while means "pattern" and expect further repetition.
Other side of the coin: Even some, let me say "apparently well established" hobbyists and providers seem to have less than stellar characteristics. That is to say, perhaps they pick and choose their TCB to fit well for certain people, less than well for other people.
And then there are the not-yet-established people, many of whom display pretty good TCB, and others, well, not so great a display.
Considering that there is a wealth of information out there (and in here) on how to display good TCB, and the same wealth of data on how to "read" TCB properly, many folks easily avoid NCNS most of the time.
But other folks either haven't learned how to read TCB properly, or, as I have observed of late, they either don't bother to read or perhaps they just enjoy piling on?
= = = = =
A further observation, perhaps related somehow to the comments above, or, perhaps not, but worth observing anyhow.
I have noticed that many established providers apparently no longer feel that posting much of anything except perhaps ads. Discussion threads are no longer worthy of their time and consideration. Doesn't mean they don't read the threads, or react/respond via PMs or EMs. And, reducing their presence on the board doesn't necessarily mean they have reduced their hobbying.

Doesn't mean they don't read the threads, or react/respond via PMs or EMs. And, reducing their presence on the board doesn't necessarily mean they have reduced their hobbying.
I think we all know why "cycles" happen. Quite often due to real world swtuff, obviously.
But also due to hate, fear, venom, in some of the threads of late.

Thats my only problem. My RW schedule is so hectic, (career, school, kids, etc)
1. Id rather not post my 'exact' hours of availibilty ...its too crazy, no one will be able to remember. Nor will anyone even pay attention ![Wink](https://cdn-w.eccie.net/images/smilies/wink.gif)
2. ...i dont want to accidently out myself, based on my schedule....If thats even possible
So i post in snatch, when its horny time
(Unfortunately, thats like the only real place my exact availability is posted)

That is always the quoted reason but in all honesty.... the hate, fear and venom appears in only a few threads and each are pretty well titled and easy to identify....
The hate, fear and venom actually only surrounds a few a few. Use of the ignore canmake things much more tolerable for anyone but it does seem to be that whining is fashionable.... even for some of the "grown men" here.... I'm not referring to anyone that has posted in this thread up to now.

CK always says it better than I do. thanks
Camille and MsPrittiKitti are 2 examples of providers who do communicate and make it a lot easier. (besides being gorgeous)
my thanks to all the others that also make hobbying easier and less of a headache.
ps. agree with W about using negativity as excuse on this. showcases or ads need more info and just plain communication.
