Hey guys just thought i'd share this. I know we all frown upon BP but you and me BOTH know we ALL use it. So, they call me the other day telling me they are now starting to charge yearly i have no clue when but that's what they said. Are y'all going to take part in this yearly advert if not, What other sites are y'all going to use? I love feedback on these types of things because I am always looking for new and more improved websites to use. Thanks guys!

I would be extremely suspicious of a representative of BP ever called me on the phone - especially with some sort of offer. The only contact I have ever had with BP is through email, never over the phone.

However, if this is true that they are offering a yearly payment offer (also doubtful), I would not take advantage of it for the same reason you stated. There is no guarantee that BP will still be around a year from now.

Sounds like a scam. Before committing to anything you need to verify that the person that called you is actually with bp.

At one time I used Backpage exclusively.....Now I am VERY reluctant to see a Backpage girl.... and will only do so if she has reviews on another site.

I think Backpage will eventually go away like Craig's list....once the media caught on to the erotic section it wasn't long before the LE activity and media exposure forced them to shut down that section completely and Backpage has been featured or mentioned in every documentary I have seen this year.

I think it is possible for that to happen to ECCIE as well but not as likely....it is a very safe assumption that Mr. LEO is on this board as well.

It was a recording and they didn't ask me to set up anything just were informing that they are shutting down 2 days in October for maintnence and were going to start charging yearly. But non the less wierd they called.

I agree. I used BP for a year or so until I found Eccie. A buddy and I still look at BP just to check out the posts and make fun of them. He still sees bp girls. I use Eccie myself. If i see a girl on BP that has the Eccie reviewed symbol I check if shes posting on here. If not I figure shes a fake. Ive called a couple asking for their Eccie handle and they said they didnt know what I was talking about. LoL

As far as CL. Yeah they shut down the Adult section. But then added the casual encounters section on the dating side. So basically just moved it and removed the photos. Its not as explicit but still there. To me it seems a lot of the UTR girls use it. Although I have noticed a lot more flagging of the posts. Especially the ones who seem legit independants. Guess the pimps got to keep his monopoly going.

As far as LE. Im sure they monitor the board. Im not sure they are actively trying to bust Eccie members. The vice departments are only so big and have limited budgets. They are busy trying to get the SW off the streets where its visible to everyday folks who can and will call to complain.

I believe the larger cities and departments use the cybercrimes to monitor for stuff like underage/trafficking. If something triggers their suspicion then they will probably start targeting and investigsting.

It is a scam. BP operates on the business model of the local garage sale. They can only make money from people who put up short term ads. Nobody will pay for a year if they are uncertain about if they will ever post an ad.
