I was at a Science Fiction convention in St. Louis about 10 years ago and there was a presentation by some of the furries. At that point I was still very naive about this and had no inkling that there was a sexual component to it all. They just talked about their costumes and making them.

Even though their presentation was interesting I decided NOT to attend the "furry affair" party on the schedule...glad that I did not.

I did not clue in to the sexual part of their culture until CSI did an episode featuring a murdered furry. That was my "aha" moment.

Honestly, that was the first time I had heard of furries, too. Gotta love CSI for their many episodes raising the awareness of kink.

I actually made a giant chihuahua costume. (STOP THINKING WHAT YOU'RE THINKING RIGHT NOW, you perverts.) I played a Harvey-like character a few years ago in a theatrical act in Galveston at the height of the Taco Bell dog mania. I still have the ears, tail, and "Yo quiero" rhinestone collar. I could wear it next time you drop by. Will give a new meaning to "doggy position."
