There is a reason why we are seeing more 1/2 hour session offers
LADIES WORD TO THE WISE!
Times are tough and while an escort might offer a hot tub session for 2-3 hours for $400 to $600. Many Players do not have the jack to cough up a $500 bill but some can spend $150 to $200 hobby money for an hour or even less easier. I remember seeing my ATF every Tuesday at 11:00 for a year (Thanks BubblesdFW) Cannot see her now and have not for months!
Many work loads increased to keep a job taking over responsibilities of those they lay off. We are all strapped money wise!
I am not saying us guys are getting cheap now ok.
But with over 15.1 million people in the USA unemployed.
http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.nr0.htm
It is tough ladies to get the volume you use to.
Those offering 1 hour and 1/2 sessions should look at
90 minute specials as a way to increase volume!
Also as we players get older and the ladies get younger what would we do with a 3 hour session after 90 minutes of fun grin!!
OK if you must, call me a CHEAP BASTARD, but look at the facts out there!
IRONMAN

UHHH do we really need another "The economy is so bad" thread?
This is not a need, it's a luxury item...period. Find someone you can afford and see her...pass on those you can't, but don't expect anyone to cut their rates for some lame azz excuse. If you can't afford to pay your bills and hobby, cut out the hobbying. No one ever died from lack of sex...so gimme a break!
NEWS FLASH: We have the same bills as you guys if not MORE! We are mostly SINGLE moms and college students doing this part time, and will charge what works for us. When you have a legitimate need such as your child needing school supplies, I will gladly DONATE that item, but don't pshyco babble your way into trying to get a discount for azz...seriously.

If one is attempting to employ psychological warfare on a demographic uniquely adept in that arena; he would be best off employing Hart's Strategy of Indirect Approach. Otherwise, suspicion and resistance are immediately engendered in the target, thus making subsequent attempts -- even subsequent attempts that are better constructed -- more prone to fail.
These economy type threads are one approach like this. On the other side of the aisle you find the "hobbyists are so yucky they could only get laid by paying" statements. Both are just a form of psychological warfare.
I'm not being critical of these practices. They are after all ubiquitous in the free market.
Agreed, however, that hobbying is a luxury and ought to be treated as such.

Well, the market can only bear a limited load (no pun intended), and I don't think there is anything wrong with providers running specials just to help lighten that load (alright, take that whatever way you like.) Luxury is delightful, but sometimes practicality and reality have to intervene. I don't offer one-hour or shorter sessions as I just think they're too rushed for a refreshing GFE that both of us will enjoy, and the day that I start thinking of this as JUST a job I have to do than play the way I want to, I will leave the profession.
I am fortunate to have gentlemen who visit me regularly, but on rare occasions I have offered 90-minute introductory sessions at a lower price point, and I may again closer to Christmas. (Call it a stocking stuffing gift.) Anything less than that and I just won't be comfortable. I understand the reasoning behind "pop n' stop" sessions, and please understand mine for why I cannot accommodate them with an honest smile.
Even when purchasing luxury items, many buyers will try to get a deal despite their income level. Bargaining is just part of human nature, and as long as they aren't being crassly rude or totally ignoring my published rates, a polite "no" is more palatable than a "Hell no!" (Ladylike etiquette was drummed into me by my Irish grandmother - and a switch from whatever tree was handy. NOOO, don't you BDSM guys start calling me now.)
As to "another economy is so bad thread," I realize that it can be frustratingly repetitive, but alas, the economy is not going to improve anytime soon, so as long as it remains a hot topic in everyday life, it will continue to be one in the hobby, as well.

I got laid off from my company closing in my state due to outsoursing to the Phillipines , thats why im here...
There are sites u can utilize that offer much cheaper services, easier to just go there than to insult someone.
Im a big believer in you get you pay for (most of the time lol).
Just look on those sites that say "specials" and im sure u will find something that fits your budget. Good Luck

Funny my boss in real life never made any of those accomodations because I can't pay my bills lol. I agreed to take a rate when I accepted the position. I don't beg him for a raise every week, nor does he ask me to work 20 hours while only paying me for 10.
People do what works best for them...end of story. Not everyone here wants more volume...some have raised their rates to avoid it.
Just because it exists does not mean we need to constantly hear about it, or what us hard working providers should be doing to accomodate those who can't afford to play here. It's more redundant than a "What's GFE" thread lol.
The economy is bad..no freakin duh! It's bad for EVERYONE, not just hobbyists. We are all human beings here who WORK for a living. Whether it is a desk job, construction, or sex work, no one really wants to continually be asked to lower their pay for someone who can't afford it.
My Doctor charges a flat fee and I pay it. If I don't want or can't afford to, guess what...I find a cheaper Doctor. There are rates from gee I dunno $50 to 10k maybe lol. Find what suits your budget and make an appt. but don't expect anyone else to change what has always worked for them. It's not rocket science.

wow......i think London Rayne nailed this thread to the walls.....and hung it by his balls. I do agree whole heartedly. When my funds run low, i stop playing the game that cost the most. fantasy vs reality.....well not rocket science for me. and im definitely not up to compromising risks for low key or budget providers. of course there is always the chance of finding the diamond in the ruff.

And that is another reason why I won't offer a rate under a certain level or short-time sessions to increase my volume. Perception is critical in this game, and being TOO cheap is a negative for many gentlemen, and that's not even taking the obvious dangers into account.
Quality costs more, and always has.

I personally can't stand the advent of the QK15, 30 minite sessions. If I see one lady who offers it and one lady who doesn't with similar rep and reviews Ill always try booking the lady who doesn't offer those shorter sessions.
Those smaller sessions have really messed up the game, and due to high demand for the lower rate causes ladies to consider them in their rate structure. But it really sucks and I would dread to be sitting at an outcall in anticipation, while a lady is 30 minutes to and hour late....and not think maybe she is squeezing two more quicky sessions in. When I see those rates I always think high volume.....even though it may not mean it I always assume it has to be a possibility.
I may be a lil biased since I book multihours.
But I do notice rates for multihours or ladies affinity for them through their rate structure definitely looks better for me for more time booked.

I also might not have to charge "as much" as I do in order to make up for the missed appointments that = wasted hotel rooms, gas and tolls spent going to another city for a nc/ns.....all of which can be blamed on the OP's fellow hobbyists.

I just bought a new Mercedes SL. I didn't go into the dealer and bitch about the economy being bad and suggest that they should sell it to me for less. It was what I wanted and I paid the market price. I want the dealer to make money. I need that car maintained and I want them around to do it and to be there for me in a couple of years when I want to get another one. If my income goes south, then I adjust. Maybe I will keep it for another year; maybe I will go buy a Lexus SC. If their income goes south, they adjust. Maybe they will add another product line; who knows. We both do that without complaining to each other. We both understand market forces.
So what am I saying....that providers will adjust their offering to market forces relative to their brand positioning. Most every provider I have been around understands this concept and most are very astute business women. Likewise, the consumers will adjust their activity commensurate with their disposable income and personal needs. It's that simple.

Realities
The Hobby Industry is not immune to economic downturns. But London has it right. Just as in all things, the upper income really does not suffer that much, and will continue to spend their income on the nicer things in life, because they will always have the extra cash to be used at their discretion.
The guy that is digging coins out of the couch in order to save up enough for a session simply will not have the funds, period. Other things come first, and if nothing is left, then that's that.
I suspect the "middle class" providers", (I just made that up), who are in the 150 to 200 bracket might hurt the most, because their cliental is the guy who has to watch his pennies. The guys who see the 300 and up Ladies will still make the yacht payment AND have his fun.
