As long as we're bumping this old thread, I agree with much of the above, however...

^ by and large I agree (especially on tone and intent) but it also depends on the provider. If she has a cross between a histrionic and narcissistic personality then she may enjoy it. However, would agree most people aren't wired this way. So for most it may hurt although not outwardly shown.
