ECCIE is not what is used to be, but neither is the world at large. Perhaps the board just echoes the antagonism, hostility, and discontent that permeates society? I believe we all have to strive harder to create the positive environment we want, but that's probably far less entertaining than train wreck dramatics and soap box grandstanding. (It's said we get the government we deserve, so maybe the Hobby hood, too?)

There are still many wonderful gentlemen on ECCIE. I gratefully appreciate my longtime Fancy followers, and a few new fans I've acquired lately.

With the preponderance of negativity and upsurge in carnal competitiveness, thoughtful marketing becomes more crucial. Providers have to find, and sell, a niche that cannot be easily filled by others, and remember that every word they type in every post, ad, signature, Showcase, email, and PM speaks volumes. REALLY consider what you write and how you'll be perceived as the person behind the keyboard before pressing the button. (The same goes, with more limited application, of course, for fellows as potential clients.)

That's what I learned in the extensive PR/communications career I had previously, anyway. It's all about brand building, maintenance, and recovery when an "oops" occurs, and how one represents oneself over the long haul.

It is also possible that the current level of fuckery has tainted (no pun intended) this site to the extent that people are getting tired of getting fucked over.....and over...and over.

Now, having said that..... Take a look at the alerts in the other Texas cities, for example. There seem to be far more alerts (in quantity) being voiced in other cities than there are here in Houston. However, the complaints are usually the same theme. Either the women are getting forced into bareback by certain tards, shorted on their donation or other fucktard tactics... Meanwhile the men (if their somewhat "anonymous" personas are to be believed) are being baited/switched, change of activities (on the fly) or otherwise "cheated" out of their donations...........

...... ALL of which bring negativity and vindictiveness to "get even" with those who wronged them, write bad reviews and create highly-suspect accusations.

I agree with Fancy in that this site used to be "fun" and is definitely neither NOT what it used to be nor is it the preceding site. Most of the currently active people have NO idea how it used to be AND how it came to be. The ones who HAVE been around (FIH, OP, LL, DH WU to name a few, and my pointMaster SMI )

I would like to think that there are things that could be done to limit all of the Bandles, Mandles, sHandles and Retread accounts.... BUT, that would require turning ON features that would go against the overall grain of the intent of being "anonymous" ... < this being the largest contributing factor to the fuckery. Until the solution to this is found and implemented, I'm afraid that the "downward trend" is something that is here to stay.

Touche, although I disagree with the last part. I actually posted MORE when I weighed LESS.

Most likely the truly self-contained, ego-stable, drama-avoiding members just read and shake their heads. However, this is a community exchange, and posting is part of Hobby involvement for a core contingent, and there's always questions to be answered for the newbies.

I freely admit that some of us should STFU at times and avoid putting foot in mouth via finger on keyboard.

No, dear, I was responding to LL's post. It's you who's hijacking now, and evidently you really don't know as much about me as you think, as I freely and frequently state that I'm NOT working much, that I'm semi-retired in the deep, dark, spooky woods and only Hobbying occasionally.
