Perhaps I missed it, but I didn't see anything in the article on the child describing his grandfather's detailed parental memories, so I wasn't addressing that. Other elements of the story can be ascribed to the ideas I previously mentioned, IMHO.
Questioning the evidence is what leads to proof. Not questioning just leads us to assumptions, often incorrect.
Not so long ago in human history we thought autistic children and schizophrenics were possessed by demons, that they were witches, and should be tortured, drowned, or burned at the stake. There was plenty of "proof" at the time for those conclusions, too, and for what "God" wanted us to do with these "blighted souls."
There are multiple ideas to explain everything under the sun depending on what question we want answered, and just as many for what we prefer to not have questioned.

I apologize if I came across as an ass however my religion I'd a subject I have extremely strong feelings for. Also there is a video on YouTube and on msnbc where the full interview with the child is presented; in which the child described the contents of heaven and his discussion with his grandfather where he details the events of his fathers childhood.

Here's what I believe in:
I believe in rainbows and puppy dogs and fairy tales.
And I believe in the family - Mom and Dad and Grandma.. and Uncle Tom, who waves his penis.
And I believe 8 of the 10 Commandments.
And I believe in going to church every Sunday, unless there's a game on.
And I believe that sex is one of the most beautiful, wholesome and natural things.. that money can buy.
And I believe it's derogatory to refer to a woman's breasts as "boobs", "jugs", "winnebagos" or "golden bozos".. and that you should only refer to them as "hooters".
And I believe you should put a woman on a pedestal.. high enough so you can look up her dress.
And I believe in equality, equality for everyone.. no matter how stupid they are, or how much better I am than they are.
And, people say I'm crazy for believing this, but I believe that robots are stealing my luggage.
And I believe I made a mistake when I bought a 30-story 1-bedroom apartment.
And I believe the Battle of the Network Stars should be fought with guns.
And I believe that Barack Obama can make this country what it once was - an arctic region covered with ice.
And Lastly:
Faster Horses,
Older Whiskey,
Younger women and........
More Money!

That Kid
He saw exactly what he was indoctrinated to see after years attending Sunday School or watching TV.
Ever notice how the Morons who see unidentified flying objects describe them as "flying sausers", which are a creation of 1950's sci fi flicks.....

Had me until the younger women part, Gator.
I definitely believe in puppies. "God" spelled backward is "Dog." Dogs are forgiving, tolerant, long-suffering, consoling, faithful, mankind's friend, but they worship us instead of the other way around. My 6 chihuahuas think I'm the Supreme Ruler and Dispenser of Miracles. I reach into that mysterious cold box in the kitchen and presto! They think bologna is manna from heaven.

I try and stay away from the religious issue, but I do believe in God even though I don't go to church anymore and show it.I was raised catholic and in my teenage years was forced to go to a Mormon church. The last church I went to was a Christian church(1993) but when the pastor started talking about god spoke to him to quit his job (he was working with my uncle at the time) so we could take care of him and he could concentrate on being a full time pastor, I retired from the church scene. Now the only time I pull the religious card out is when the boss asks (he knows better now) will I work Sunday for him.Oh, I just remembered I did go back to church(only in the parking lot though) around 1996 and 1997 but only for the Church bazaar because they had a blackjack table and other gambling stations.

Humm
I was a Traditional Muslim for 12 yrs. I was raised in Islam. But after spending a year in each religion. I choose Islam at 18.
But I kept my studies and dialog with other religions. I even had 2 years in Buddhism. I still meditate
I have come to the conclusion that there is no God or a devil. The bible was a tool to keep man discipline and from being savage. It is only a book of passed down fairy tales that are to teach a lesson.
I find it humorous that Christianity and those off shoot religions are younger than Buddhism which is over 36,000 years old.
King James and the Nicaean council decided what books that will be in his Bible and they voted to have the Trinity. In those times the books that he write on witchcraft was more popular
I am still awaiting to read about the dinosaurs in one of these Holy books.

I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He died for my/our sins, that He rose again on the third day just like He said He would and is seated in Heaven at the right hand of God the Father now. I believe God sent the Holy Spirit to live with and in us here on Earth and that some day Jesus will return to establish His kingdom on Earth for eternity and that all believers will be with Him forever. I believe that God is LOVE and merciful and full of grace and we His creation are extremely blessed to have a Father who loves us all unconditionally!! Jesus is LORD!!

I am really surprised that such indept discussion would be had on a hobby board concerning faith.
I believe if there is no harm in questioning the belief in a higher power. Having both grandfather's as minister's in their own right, defintely altered my view on some things religiously. Having said that, I think there is enough blame to go around for why we do what we do and how we surmise situations as they develop before all of us.
Faith is a personal relationship...one that I think is best keep to one's self. For if there are more than two people in a room that share the same belief, one in the room will try to persuade the other over to their belief system and I think that in and of itself, changes how any relationship with a higher power is suppose to be.........It is a personal journey...one in which you find your way on your own..............In my humble opinion........

I believe there is a God or maybe Gods. I really don't care for anything after that. I cannot get into going to church or listening to a preacher preach about something that I really don't care to listen to. Most churches are out there to make money, nothing else. I cannot really get into the whole Jesus thing either.
