Are you saying if you both lost a limb, a hand, a few fingers, or God forbid an injury that may, or may not put either of you in a wheelchair, then neither of you wanted to live? If so, hen I stand by my statement. Do I understand a pact between brothers in arms? DEFINITELY! Do I know the difference between living and a living hell? I do. I can understand, after seeing first hand what an IED, a mortar round, or a sniper rifle, to name a few, can do, I understand the request. Hell, would you ask a friend to kill you if a car accident left you in a similar state? For either of you to judge what the other can still lead a productive life with, or not, and end each other's life at that moment seems cowardly.

The funny thing is from my experience, when solders & brothers make such pacts it is often made during the heat of battle or shortly thereafter...... The psyche of a soldier while in combat is something that those of us who were never in it could never understand..... Watching some of your brothers lose their loves and some injured so severly yet left barely alive is often a thought one cannot allow themselves to think about..... I'm not one to question bravery or courage of someone who chooses this fate in a time such as that......... That is not to dismiss those who live with such injuries every day..... But courage has many faces.....

Please explain to me why I have to defend anything about myself...to anyone...I'm content to sit back and let you look back at your post and try and come up with reasons where I might be justified in your mind, like you're doing now.

I kind of understand your outburst, you being crippled tends to leave yourself open to experiencing strong emotions when confronted with my feelings about being crippled. Again, I sort of understand it. I don't agree with it, you shouldn't let anyone on the Interwebs affect you so strongly, and I don't forgive it, but I somewhat understand it. My advice is to take a few deep breaths and calm down before you shout at the rain next time.
