I don't eat fried chicken...but this thread has me thinking...hmmmm? Looks like I'm missing out on some authentic Houston culture. Chicken and buttermilk, jalapeños, and waffles. Damn Houston can throw down!

Barbecue Inn @ Yale & Crosstimbers, for the old-timey kind of fried yardbird yo momma used to make on Sundays. I love Frenchys and Al Ameel, but BBQ Inn wins if old-timey is what you crave....

If you ever come to Da Burgh, Friches is really good, they also own the Chicken Derby, same recipe. Other than that, it's Popeyes!

Damn, now THIS is the tastiest thread I've seen on ECCIE in a while!!! I LOVE fried chicken, so thanks for asking, Dallas, and I appreciate all the suggestions posted, too.
Now I want to get greased up with a good breast in my hand. Um, er, I mean bird, of course. Creamy desert later.

That's some good eatin', for sure. Some Fridays they sell it for $5 for 8 pieces (4 thighs, 4 drumsticks) and that covers my food needs until Monday. Helluva deal if it wasn't for the 41 cent tax on it. Cocksucking government plunder! Pisses me off every time.
