At the heart of them, all of these threads are guys searching for solutions to poor IOP.

Pre-appointment drinks
Better looking than most
Willing to DATY or try other things she might like

The problem is, you are paying 300/hour, so the IOP should start off at a base 100%. You shouldn't have to figure out strategies to have a good session.

What the guys should be responsible for is:
Showing up on time
Taking a shower when you get there
Keeping your junk groomed
Being respectful while together
Not doing something that would hurt her
Not screwing with her privacy
Not putting her at risk by trying to sneak or preasure her into bbfs
Paying the donation agreed to prior to the appointment

If you are not doing the above, you only have yourself to blame for low IOP

If you are doing all of this and the session has low IOP, light her up with a review or comments. Spread the word.

This profession is a choice, we are not forcing them to spend time with us. If we don't get to be YMMV on the donation, you shouldn't let them get away with being YMMV on the service.

When I used to date escorts, I almost always started off with a dinner to see if we were attracted. I'm talking about Leo (the good one), KLK (or whatever, we first met in a Mexican restaurant, I still remember her petiteness looking around the crowded place for me). To get back to what the OP is evidently asking, yes, at least 15 minutes before say, a 1-hour date just sitting, chatting, sipping a refreshment, getting acquainted, perhaps some LFK, is highly recommended, and pretty much a must with me. I always do that at my incall, and I usually don't count that first quarter hour, or time in the shower if the gentleman asks to freshen up. I appreciate his thoughtfulness and good hygiene. Now, if we progress to DFK and fondling on the couch or I join him in the bath for lathering, well, playtime has begun.

I don't mind meeting a potential client out for a drink first, but again, I have to wonder if it's just for friendly banter and relaxation before a session, or if he's sizing me up and may change his mind. How do I know he won't get cold feet for reasons having nothing to do with me?

In that case and with any companion, I believe that the lady should be compensated for her time and effort UNLESS she has TOTALLY misrepresented herself. Any fellow who enters my incall and decides he doesn't wish to continue can always leave if he isn't already sipping my Jameson. No charge, no hard feelings. Has only happened ONCE, and the kind lad left the full donation. Just couldn't go through with it for personal reasons, but he actually came back a few weeks later... repeatedly.

that make companies run.
Do companies build samples or perform some services at no charge to get a contract? You would be surprised.
