my 2 cents is this: she should not have to get all dolled up for a lunch at some place like Chili's.. jeans and a nice blouse....

He could also ask her to send photos to prove her bow legged stance.. however he should also point out that should he decide to meet and she "exaggerated" her stance.... etc... then he has the right to turn and walk away with neither side saying anything bad.

Difference is she may have spent that 2 hours getting ready, to which now she is all dressed up and no place to go or someone to hang out with.

A while back a lady suggested to me that we meet for coffee. There was never any expectation on my part that there would be NO reimbursement for the time.

I think the only question is: what rate is appropriate? There was a thread that touched on this subject not long ago found here: http://www.eccie.net/showthread.php?t=161768.

Bottom line: I don't think "free" is a concept found in the hobby...not in any situation.

I just venturing a guess, but maybe a BP girl, with no reviews, no references, no website, no board presence. BP has a reputation of being a "crap shoot" and seems like OP was excersizing due diligence.

I have a regular that I'll occasionally go out to lunch with for free. I do not expect him to pay for my time then but I do expect him to pay for my food.. lol! Maybe it's because I like him? I wouldn't do this with a newbie.

If I have free time and someone offers "AFTER" a session then I will go to Lunch/Dinner with them off the clock. But if it is Specifcally just Dinner/Lunch then I expect to be compensated.

OK, we have had way too much talk about the paying for this young lady's time, etc. I guess everyone missed the part where I said "She was a BP provider with no reviews and no references" I wanted to check her out to see if she was indeed real, verifiable, and was actually what I wanted. Wow, folks took this thing way too far.

There's too much bait and switch on backpage. Maybe he should have agreed to the deal, then if it turned out to be a bait and switch, or a pimp, or any number of other things that occur with BP, then he could just walk away, presuming a pimp wasn't close by to endanger or rob him. Many BP ladies are not as they seem. Some use fake pictures. Since OP was dealing with a specific request from an unreputable source, I understand his caution.

I don't mind paying for a reputable lady's time,. The whole BP thing is a completely different realm that requires extreme caution.

But that's why I use eccie. I have always paid for ladies time, doesn't matter what happens. I have had a couple of ladies who saw me otc, but I even gave them something for their time as well.

We're just going to have to agree to disagree, Am-a-pleaser. I think that unless she proves deceitful, she is entitled to compensation for her time. I do agree, however, that he would have been better off refraining from asking for free time and potentially walking away when meeting her for the appointment. Even though he might be wasting her time, she might have had it coming for lying about her bowleggedness or using fake pics.
