Thanks for the very good input/advice in this thread. Most of staying clear of LE is common sense, but it never hurts to see it in print and file it in your head.
One question?? Do the outcall/residence issues pertain to (cleints') hotels as well?

never do outcalls, as the law on a legal residence does offer some legal maneuvering.

Actually New Orleans declassified the crime from a Midemeanor to a municipal or summary offense. Prostitution has never been a felony on a first offense.

As for the legal residence issue, that would only extend to YOUR hotel while traveling. The law does allow that a person has the expectation of privacy, therefore if a police officer is called because of a complaint by someone claiming you are in YOUR hotel hooking, the police can only question you about it, but if they arrest you without ACTUAL proof, such as video,or by you admitting it, then the charge would be faulty under the right of privacy.

I AM is quoting what the caselaw says and he is accurate. BUt reality is a cop can do whatever he or she wants to, all he has to do is testify he saw you making deal outside of room and that gives him probable cause to invade your room. The most common one is that the cop thought he saw a drug transaction, gives him right to invade probable cause. Truth be told you may not have been out of the room at all, but who is Judge to believe the accused or an officer of the law. If the police or LE want you thwey will get you no laws, no courts, no justice will stop them, key to it is staying off their radar, just MHO.
