Right on! The VA scares me, and I don't scare very easily. I have full medical benefits at the VA and will not admit to it in my real life. In my real life, I pay for medical insurance so that I don't have to go to the VA. I just collect my military disability check, and use it to pay for the medical, dental, and Rx insurance policies with some left over.

If anyone saw the movie "Born on the Fourth of July" 1989 with Tom Cruise, think back on some of the scenes about the VA hospitals. I saw these in person.

Check out the movie "Article 99" with Keifer Sutherland, Kathy Bates, and Ray Liotta. It is about a VA hospital in Kansas City. You can still see the building. It is standing on the hill behind the Liberty Memorial. Factually based.

Actually the movie was filmed in the old saint marys hospital building which was torn down and replaced with the new federal reserve bank building.

I don't think anyone should use the Nazis when trying to make a point about anything. That includes this democrat or Glen Beck or any of those teabaggers who draw Hitler mustaches on the President and parade around.

Godwin's Law - As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1.

This seems to apply to politics as well.

SillyGirl,

You are one up on me; I had never heard of Godwin's Law, so I looked it up.
You are not as silly as you pretend: smart woman.

From the Urban Dictionary http://www.urbandictionary.com/defin...in's%20law

Definition: "There is a tradition in many groups that, once this occurs, that thread is over, and whoever mentioned the Nazis has automatically lost whatever argument was in progress. Godwin's Law thus practically guarantees the existence of an upper bound on thread length in those groups. However there is also a widely- recognized codicil that any intentional triggering of Godwin's Law in order to invoke its thread-ending effects will be unsuccessful."

Also:

"A term that originated on Usenet, Godwin's Law states that as an online argument grows longer and more heated, it becomes increasingly likely that somebody will bring up Adolf Hitler or the Nazis. When such an event occurs, the person guilty of invoking Godwin's Law has effectively forfieted the argument."
"Dude, shut up. Nobody cares what you think."
"Oh, so now you're trying to censor me? Go to hell, you damn Nazi!"

Enjoy and be safe.
