Default Did Charlie Tank?

The question is - do you think that because Charlie Weis had been hired as the O.C. for Florida, he was so wanting to get out of town that he tanked the offense in the Raiders and Ravens games? Granted, the Ravens have a good team (SB caliber, in fact), but it seems odd that we were undefeated at home in the first seven games, but lost the last two (after it was made known that Charlie was leaving) by a combined score of 61-17.

I stated to my friends the day it was announced that this would end the chiefs season. Its a disruption, and it changes the balance of the team

Gotta agree with DD. People move all the time, it wouldn't have been a big deal to hold off the announcement until after the Chiefs season was over.

I don't think he would intentionally mess up the team though.

Apparently 610 Sports had a report that Haley took over play-calling duties in the 2nd half of the Ravens game, which Haley denied.

Haley will deny the sky is blue. The guy won't admit to shit. I believe Charlie Weis on this one.

No way, he is to much of a pro to tank it/phone it in. Besides if he did in fact phone it in and word got around he would never get another job at a major Univ or in the pros.

Well said. I think it did affect their morale though. Apparently, the teammates were kind of divided into camps of loyalty (Weis camp vs. Haley camp), with Cassel in the Weis camp. I can't help but think that this caused something of a rift between the two camps. These young idealistic players with divided loyalties weren't as much of a team anymore.

Which is why I question his timing. If he was a true pro this would not have come out until after they were done playing. I remember he did that same thing to NE when he decided to leave for ND.
