Note to self..... cuff links, cuff links, cuff links!!!

I must admit...I'm pretty mellow. Dressing to the "nines"...not really my thing. But...for women of quality....you DO what needs to be done!!!

Is this a back-handed slam against all the women for whom you haven't dressed to the nines?

If I have a meeting at a biz style hotel (Marriott, etc.) I want to blend in so I'll toss on a tie. Maybe Armani pants (you can never look bad in Armani). They fall so nicely to the floor when the zipper and belt are undone. A recent SB said how much she liked me dressing nicely (yes, ma'am!). We looked good in the mirror as we .......

Best night ever - I showed up to pick up my date and she answered the door wearing one of my dress shirts and ties, and stillettos, and nothing else. We never made it out of the house!

Noted, my dear.

When I "dress", I always wear a shirt with cuffs. Cufflinks are a fabulous accessory! And one must have the right tie. Personally, I highly recommend Robert Talbot Seven Fold ties. Limited edition, numbered, hand-folded with no lining or stitching. They are exclusive, tie and lay better, and last forever. They may start at 3 bills, but they are absolutely worth it if one wants to look the very best!

Everything is regional to some extent, but I've never thought of a tie as a requisite to "fit it" at a better hotel

She was overdressed. Personally one of my favorite looks is her in one of my dress shirts partially buttoned

I agree with you ATL. I got to visit the St Regis yesterday. Gosh, I love that place. Nobody took a second look at us wearing jeans and boots. I've worked in a few hotels, believe me, staff could really care less how a person is dressed. They see all kinds of people day in and day out. You would have to be dressed really outlandish to cause attention. I really don't understand all the paranoia when it comes to walking through a hotel.

Very true, jeans would fit in. But I always want to be as low key as possible. There are a ton of corporations that us my local Marriot "so when in Rome...." If it makes my partner feel that our time together is special, then why not look nice for your temporary lover.

PS: I would like to see Ans in a tie only (maybe some stilettos).
