Default Royals trade Greinke

It is SO hard being a Royals fan.

I'm amazed at the number of people that seem to hate this trade, comparing it to the Beltran and Dye deals. He wanted out, gave up on the team during the season, and the Royals got decent value for him; a new starting shortstop who can actually play defense at the position, a decently-regarded centerfielder, and two high ceiling pitching prospects (even though one seems to have a pot problem, but that doesn't seem to hamper Tim Lincecum any). With all the prospects that are coming, I think this works out well.

I think this trade is a wise move by Dayton Moore. Zack has serious emotional problems and is one bad outing away from a total breakdown. He didn't like it here and he was never going sign a long term deal with the Royals. I wish him luck, especially because he'll be pitching in the other league. Long term this is a great trade.

When you have so many holes to fill, one great player is worthless other than to trade for more players. This is very similar to trading Jarod Allen, he was a great pass rusher but when you need 3 more lineman and 3 linebackers, corners etcetc. he was worth tradign for what we got, which I believe was Brandon Albert and Flowers or carr with those extra picks. As for the Royals, they will suck until the owner decides he wants to win.

With that farm system they got now, the sucking won't be lasting for long (I really fucking hope)

We will always have a good player for a few seasons at most, then they are off to a big market theat pays big bucks.

Me thinks the Yankees and the like, feel that the Royals are their farm system.

The Royals have had a middle of the pack player budget the last few seasons, and Glass has actually said he'd be willing to go higher. And I think that this offseason showed not everybody will go to the huge market teams, look at the Yanks, no Jayson Werth, no Cliff Lee, no Carl Crawford, no Greinke.
