Default DATY

I am curious about DATY from clients and providers. Have others experienced sore throats after partaking in such events? I have had to go to the DR several times after doing the DATY, a couple providers have had reviews done on them on this site, also BP providers and "SW". Please no names or request.

Lets Start by saying this. USE PROTECTION!!!!! I dont understand why some of you are not using it. Its there for a reason. You can get STD's from doing DATY,BBBJ. Its not safe! Use whats out there so you don't get yourself in trouble! Just my Opinion.

I'm curious...a 'couple of girls' reviewed here, a 'couple' of BP girls, and a SW....by my count, that's five times you dove in, got sick, went the doc, and dove right in again?

Some of us regard the reward as worth the risk. Much as we do when we engage in other potentially risky activities such as skydiving, rock climbing, water skiing, or even just driving to the store for a carton of milk, we have to accept that everything has risk associated with it.

All that really matters is that you understand the risks to you. Know the risk of catching an STD from unprotected oral sex, and the possible repercussions to you and make an informed decision.

Here is the start of my risk assessment: Anything that you can easily catch through unprotected oral sex is either 1) curable (gonorrhea) or 2) also transmissible through protected sex (HSV).

A person with a family might decide that the risks are too high, for reasons above and beyond the health implications. I choose to take that risk. I also eat raw shellfish, use Q-Tips in an unsafe manner, and purchase items from vending machines.

PS: what's the deal with a Texas poster coming to Kansas City to tell us, in their very first post ever, that we are not being safe?

I don't do CFS or BBBJ as a matter of personal choice, and won't judge those who choose to do so. That is their choice and risk if they decide to do so. I enjoy pleasure as much as anyone and would love BBBJ. Yes, things are curable, some are not, i.e. Herpes, HPV, I may be a cheater, but I don't want to pass anything on, curable or otherwise.
Btw, it may not be due to DATY. Could be reflux, sinus, dryness, changes in the weather. You may want to see ear, nose, throat specialist to be safe.

Hope she takes this the right way, but despite all this discussion, Lillianna is STILL on my DATY Timex Girl challenge list...

And good point about the 1-post Texas guy, KCQ... Hmmmm.....

Vito, I'm confused. You won't do Covered Full Service? What does CFS stand for in your book?

I wasn't clear, I really meant I don't do FS of any kind. I mainly see massage providers. It's hit and miss sometimes, but it will do.

From the Planned Parenthood Web site:

  • Today HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection in the U.S.
  • It is estimated that 75 percent of reproductive age women and men have been infected with genital HPV at some point in their lives (Cates, 1999).
  • HPV is transmitted by direct skin-to-skin contact with an infected individual and can occur whether or not warts or other symptoms are present (McDermott-Webster, 1999).
  • Although there is currently no "cure" for genital HPV infection, most cases are transient and clear themselves without medical intervention (CDC, 2001; Elfgren, et al., 2000; Ho, et al., 1998).
Chances are you have been exposed to HPV, had one minor outbreak that you may not even have noticed, and you are done. Condoms do not protect against HPV, unless you don't touch anywhere but through the condom.

The facts for HSV (Herpes simplex virus) are basically the same. Nearly everyone has been exposed to it. You aren't protected by a condom. Herpes is transmitted by skin-to-skin contact during "asymptomatic shedding" (meaning there isn't even a sore to tell you your partner is infected). Usually you get one minor breakout and it never returns.

Seriously, don't worry about herpes or HPV. If you have had anywhere near the average number of sex partners (and most of us here probably have had slightly above that average), you have probably already been exposed to them. You may not be contagious, and there is always the possibility of encountering a different strain. But don't fixate on the "incurable" label.

I am well aware of the "dangers" of DATY and it is a risk that is acceptable to me. It's also a deal breaker, as I won't see a provider that does not allow DATY. I don't begrudge them, I respect their decision, but I won't visit with them either.

In my "non-hobby" life, I always use condoms with partners, but likewise always partake in unprotected DATY. I've never experienced any problems with either providers or personal contacts. I don't think the risk is nearly as great as unprotected FS.

At the risk of being rude - "if it smells good, eat it."
