You might try Carmax.com if you have decent credit you can get a nice set of wheels from 10 grand to 15 grand... I got a 98 Ford Explorer loaded (had 60k miles on it), put 500 down on a 4 year note, my payments were 280 a month
price on truck was 12 grand

Not That Easy
The problem is just about any reputable dealer will want employment records, mainly SS #, and proof of income, which usually means IRS Records.
That is, if you are financing. If you pay cash, (over $10,000), there can also be problems. Many States have laws that require retailers to report ant large retail cash purchases.
A few years back, I went to buy a small car to tow behind my Motorhome, I wanted to simply write a check, They reported that, and it took 24 hours for the transaction to clear. If my W-2 income had not indicated I was able to have that much cash, I am sure I would have been contacted by some government entity wanting to know where I got that much cash.
Be wary of someone who can provide you with documents that do not reflect your true income, and how you earn it. The penalties for Fraud are pretty stiff.
Remember, there is a paper trail in just about every purchase.
You best bet is to save up and buy from an individule. Even though you risk buying someone else's problem. But then, in order to transfer the title, you have to have insurance, and insurance companies often require the same documentation, plus a credit check.
Good Luck

Do you care what kind it is? Something with good gas mileage and reliable? Drivetime sells good cars and works with less than perfect credit and "stated income".

Income proof is the hardest for providers in purchasing a car. Most banks and auto loans will require proof of income. Next best bet is to go to a buy here pay here lot, most of these only require you to have a down payment and make your payments on time or they will repo it quick. If you go this route be prepared to pay a higher percentage rate.
I have previous car dealer experience, if you have questions or need help feel free to pm me.

I may be able to help.... I am a finance mgr at a big dealer in San Antonio and have helped quite a few ladies here...(well on another board, but some of those ladies are here) Yes sometimes banks want you to prove your income but, with the right relationships with lenders there are ways around that. I just so happen to have some relationships like that. It will just depend on your situation.
As far as putting a big chunk of change down. This is a response to Jackie s. It is a FEDERAL LAW not a state law to report a cash transaction in excess of ten thousand dollars but that is only if it is actual cash. If you write a check then there is no requirement to report the transaction.
Now back to Brianna, if you are interested please pm me I am sure I can help. Like i said I have helped a few girls from here and all have been very happy. If San antonio is to far maybe I can just help you with setting up your loan and you can use the approval out there just let me know.

Yes! you can go here: www.wix.com/immare/badcreditauto... this is not a tote the note lot. actual bank financing. minimum 450 credit score. up to 4 bankruptcies. repossessions OK. only thing is you can only have one car finanaced on your credit at a time. ONE THING: they wont allow 2 cars to be financed under the same name/credit. If you are about to get a car repo'd, they ask you turn the car in so it will turn into a PAST repo the next day. if you want more info, just PM me.

I've bought 2 used cars in Memphis and they didn't care where I worked (I made up somthing using a friend's num) and they didn't even care if I had a driver's license or got insurance on it. One guy told me he didn't care if I robbed the bank, as long as he got his money. lol and yeah it was financed, with 2 grand downpayment.

can't the quarterly taxes filed as a self employed person count as employment verification??? Isn't that why we as providers do file our taxes?? so we can have credit?? and not have red flags as to how we put our kids through private school and and keep a house with all the necessities??

Quick way around is save up & buy via private seller no BS just 2 happy people. My rule of thumb with any big ticket item is you need double in the bank/mattress the cost of the item, does not apply to homes.
