The slapping. Not for me either. As a mind fuck, it can be useful. I have seen many scenes (esp Domme) where slapping, hair pulling, spitting in the face (yes still) is used. A lot. It works for some. Looks and feels cheap and easy to me. Like the D is putting no real effort or care into it.
