I do believe these are the trials that gave birth to Krispy Kremes! Consulting clients are indeed frustrations in waiting.

All of the above is good advice but sometimes the BEST advice is a carry permit!

I kid, of course. Or not.

When you have someone like that, you've just got to be brutally honest with them as politely as you can. Tell them you're the expert. People judge you by the quality of your work product. Looks, aesthetics, etc. count. And that his vision of what it needs to look like is significantly outside the range that most would judge as normal and doing his way would harm your reputation. And you can't do that unless he pays you enough money to retire on -- for life. Thank him for thinking of you, tell him you're sorry it didn't work out, and give him his money back. (And don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!)

Life is too short to work with folks like that.

The best advice I got in this thread was to talk to the friend who brought me the client.

I told the former client that the person he introduced to me was driving me nuts. He promptly called the client and said "Stop embarrassing me".

To my great delight, the client is now allowing me to do my job.

Nah. Mine was the best advice. You are just too much of a lady.
