Indeed, bob. I tend to gravitate towards the harder edged music (mostly electronic) that has intense bass lines and drums.
Doesn't mean I don't heart music using conventional instruments though. For example: Youth Of Today - " Positive Outlook" sxe in da mother feckin' house, yo!

I love John Fogerty! Have You Ever Seen The Rain is a great song. My GF likes to play it on her guitar.

in my music book.....
fogerty and urban - 96, good midwest/west coast rock n roll, good beat.
phil collins - 90, very hypnotic, nice voice.
aesthetic perfection - 88, talk about industrial!!! but the keyboard line is too repetitous for me.
dawn of ashes - 85 - in-fucking-tense!!! not to mention nightmarish surreal. techno meets "night of the living dead"!!
plant - 70 - too repetitous for me.
how about led zeppelin's "dazed and confused" 1969 in the studio
.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T12wRBAhcTY
nice and spacy!!
or "ramble on", one of my favs!!!
.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3HemKGDavw
nice lead/rhythm/drum line, great voice, great guitar at 1:50!!!
"been this way, ten years to the day..."
then the solo and verse after 2:30!!!!!!!!!
have a great music weekend folks!!!!!

I don't think there is any truly "bad" music, lol, just some is better than others. I'm almost in agreement with your rankings, but I would have to put Plant, (repitition or not) above the "intense, and industrial", (just personal preference).
It is really hard to beat Zep, (great picks btw), so here's a little of "Mr. Waters to compliment the mix......

You are correct about Iggy Pop(According to Wikipedia). He has aged into one fugly mofo. I bet he still gets plenty of tale to this day! He was perfect in The Crow, City of Angels. And Search and destroy is one long, egotistical, testosterone laden-ed man burp that smells like stale beer, wisky and cigarettes. Classic American, chest thumping, truck driving male. America the beautiful, and I love it.

Exactly. You know what, Chuck Berry, Elvis, Dylan, and American Blues gave birth to The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Clapton, Beck, et al,... and Rock & Roll in general. Iggy, Lou Reed, The Ramones, and the rest of the New York scene gave birth to The Sex Pistols, The Clash, Duran Duran, U2, and the rest of the English Punk & New Wave scene. Fuck 'The British Invasions', it all started here. Both times.

OMG! You are so right. They do the blues very well. I love blues music too. Billy Holiday remains one of my ATF blues singers.
