I recall quite fondly OMNI magazine, one of his other ventures. OMNI had a long list of famous Sci-Fi authors as contributors, and was often on the cutting edge of art and other issues. I believe that his wife was the driving force until she passed away from cancer. It's like the old saying, "Even a pig can sometimes find a diamond."

Ah the demise of Bob.... I once had a friend who had to disappear many many years ago because he was in bed with a close female relative of Bob. The couple turned states evidence in the prominent Pizza Trials in the early 80's out in California and had to go into witness protection. Never did hear from him again but I know there was a high price on his head and the only reason Bob didn't get clipped for his involvement was he was just too public a figure to do away with without serious federal attention.

ONMI was a great sci-fi mag all of the greats of the golden age of sci-fi contributed to OMNI, Arthur C. Clarke, Issac Asimov and Robert Heinlein to name a few.
