Cool Thread Locked / Closed

Ok, I'm confused... Please Explain

Your guidelines state:

#13 - In our review forums, be mindful of the 'maturity' of threads you are posting to, ie. the date of the last item posted. We ask that you refrain from posting to a review in which the last post was made 30 or more days ago. Some exceptions may apply if you are providing relevant, valuable or updated information about the provider, but as a general rule of thumb, this can best be accomplished by writing a new review altogether and avoiding the bumping of old ones. This applies to our review forums, in particular, as discussion threads are often allowed to flow for an unspecified length of time.

But the thread http://eccie.net/showthread.php?t=75147 got closed anyways... I didn't even get to reply.

The Moderator that closed the thread explained in post number 57 of the thread. The review was posted more than 30 days ago.
The question is: Some exceptions may apply if you are providing relevant, valuable or updated information about the provider, but as a general rule of thumb, this can best be accomplished by writing a new review altogether and avoiding the bumping of old ones. Was there new, relevant info being brought forward, or does someone just need to step up and write a new review.

Spacemtn, I presume Bigguy is referring to the fact that there was never a gap of 30 days or more between posts, referring to "posting to a review in which the last post was made 30 or more days ago" in the rules, which doesn't technically apply here.

Me, I don't have any problem with this thread being closed as a judgment call on the basis that it's stale. There's a difference between closing a thread and sanctioning a user for posting in the thread.

GG,
I agree with the difference between closing a thread and a sanction. I aso failed to mention in my post that much of this is a judgement call on the part of the Moderator that is involved. Much of Moderating is judgement based as absolutes are few and far between. I think (key word) that this particular thread had been bumped at about the 20 day mrk several times. As you know, the intent of this guideline is to keep "fresh" information in front of our members.

Thanks for the support!

In my first post (close to 30 day mark from last post) did bring up new / valuable updated information, she was coming back into to town. My second post after Six's comment was adding new pictures of her "relevant and valuable" in my opinion...

Your assumption is correct GS. I just didn't understand why a thread gets locked - considering I'm still getting PMs from board members about her.
I'd rather just answer their questions / requests for pictures on the board/review.

I think I was trying to provide fresh information and keep disinformation away by adding new pics. But if you guys as set on closing the most viewed thead (Currently 13500+ Views) to date in "Independent Provider Reviews - Austin" subforum; I guess that's your call...

Bigguy006,
Since I was not the mod that closed this thread, I am simply trying to look at the situation as if I were viewing it as it happenned.

I went back and re-read the entire thread. Some items of note:
1) There are a tremendous number of views of this review, no doubt. You are to be congratulated on this as 13K plus views is a mean feat!!
2) In re-reading the thread, many of the posts are questions as to the authenticity of the photos, her name being hispanic or not, her schedule for returns to the area, the use of more than one name on BP, upselling, NCNS, etc.
3) If you take out the name discussions and her purported schedule(s) for returns, the elation or dissapointments at her schedule (none of which I would consider of value to the review as posted per guidelines) there are some large date gaps.
4) Consider the following posts and dates:
#1 07/20/10
#7 07/21/10
#8 08/04/10
#47 08/30/10
#48 09/23/10
#50 10/18/10
The last four posts take place is a span of 50 days with the gap between #48 and #50 being 24 days. The thread had, seemingly, run out of gas after 08/30/10. There were 47 replies up to 08/30 and only 7 after that none of which were posting anything new that had not already been posted ("is she in town", "how did you get access to the strippers locker room" and 2 posts by the moderator) other than some new pictures, which are pretty smokin by the way!

I don't want to over-analyze this (like I haven't already) but it looks to me like it is truly time for someone to step up and write a new review of this lovely!

Lastly, even though it is closed, it can still be viewed and searched, so the view count can and will continue to climb.

I am just wanting to present a POV that may not have been considered. I am not saying one way or the other is right, just that this one, like lots of the situations that Mods deal with on a daily basis, can be viewed from lots of different angles.

This thread about another thread being closed has been beat to death. I feel it should be closed.
