Maybe I'm odd, but I hate TV to start with. I have a tiny one up on the third floor attached to a dual dvd/vcr player for those things I must watch. Other than that, I leave the TV alone because it is a giant waste of finite life IMO.

And that goes doubly for porn. I bought one porno mag when I was 18; looked at it and gave it away. I thought it was gross.

So no TV and no porn for me. Just a nice enjoyable lady will do just fine.

Personally, I think a segue or a hijack is good for a topic and I agree! Having on the television is just poor form. Period.

Last October, I purchased a television for the first time in about 15 years. I also got cable. I can honestly say, though, that we rarely watch it but it has been GREAT having one of those big televisions around.

Although I'm thinking that having a 42" television isn't a big deal for most. For me, though, it was a big decision.

There was a certain cachet of not being involved, or even knowing, about television shows or current events past what one could glean from magazines or the internet.

Still really don't know much about television shows.

With porn, I've been known to take a peek and go, "Oh, how gross" and then not taking my eyes off of it. So with porn, I'm fine with it. I just have a fairly active sex life and so porn really isn't significant for me at all.

Just not so much during an appointment. Although I'm reconsidering my stance.

I can understand that; I have a similar pet peeve about going to an outcall and the guy's TV is playing either Cops or some crime drama about prostitutes being raped and murdered!

I always ask them to turn such things off, and do you know I've occasionally been asked "why?"

OK. I do only outcalls. The minute the lady knocks on my door, the TV goes off, and the minute she is inside the door my cell phone is turned off. If she wants to play music that's OK by me. And BTW, all land lines are disconnected before she arrives.

Nothing is going to interrupt our time together (except maybe a fire alarm ).

We have a TV, but no cable or satellite; it's just for watching whichever movies or classic TV shows we choose to watch. I stopped watching network TV around 1980, public and syndicated TV in the mid-90s and cable about 2000. I've never had HBO or Showtime, and it's kind of cool to hear people talk about "hit" shows and have no idea what they're talking about.

I think I have late onset ADHD because I find TV or even soft background music distracting. I want to be in the moment and take pleasure in (and take cues from) changes in breathing, the rustling of bed clothes and slip-slurp sounds of intercourse. So peripheral silence is golden for me.

BUT, I could see watching porn as a part of foreplay, especially if the lady was into it and wanted me to warm her up with toys as she watched the players strut their stuff on the tube. But when she turned to me for the real action, "click", off goes the video.

All tv is a distraction. Porn is not a turn on if you have the real thing right in front of you. Any tv, whether it is on porn or not, diminishes the experience for me. (I do think that the Andrew blake stuff is hot, though).
