Touche, Vyt. Touche.

And thank you, Sixx. Aside from the post at hand, I've decided to keep all of the Happy Hour discussions fairly private.

Anyone who is interested in participating in an Austin Happy Hour is welcome to join my Google group at http://groups.google.com/group/unforgettablegfe. Members consist of verified hobbyists and providers only, and the group is private. If you request membership, please include your board handle and/or P411 ID.

Information about upcoming Happy Hours, daily specials from providers, etc. will be provided via the Group Discussion postings.

We should start a thread and entitle it "Where the Thread Turns" to identify WHERE things go south. I don't think I have "criticized" any of the people involved.

I pointed out that naming specific establishments that are not adult in nature could come back to haunt you in the future.

Do you REALLY think that running a poll where MickieD's comes out the favorite 7-1 and a week later the "unnanounced" social come up that people will not take a look at it being at MickieD's?

That is simple naivety.

Despite what you might think, there is more than one way to organize a gathering, and surprisingly, you aren't the only one in the world who has done this sort of thing.

I never claimed to be. Have at it.

With as many highly publicized events, reviews and newsworthy mentions each of these restaurants has, do you actually think a single poll/post on a message board will make it to the front page of Google and destroy a business's reputation because some overzealous Christian soccer mom threw a fit about the fact that escorts and hobbyists might actually go to the same restaurants she takes her family to? Talk about Chicken Little syndrome.

Actually I have seen similar thinks happen.

What is the exact problem here? You can't possibly feel that an Austin Happy Hour that isn't organized by you would threaten the popularity of your GC Luncheons, especially since they cater to such different audiences... so why the attitude?

Actually I have NO INTEREST in organizing a Happy Hour and you are right in that I don't feel one would threaten the popularity of a GC Luncheon. Two totally different events catering to different types of people. As I recall the May GC Luncheon was the same day as the May Social and we had had phenomenal attendance at the luncheon during the afternoon...

I was honestly trying to offer some legitimate advice but by all means feel free to do it any way you choose.

I've been nothing but nice to you, and though I've watched you degrade other providers, make unfounded assertions about the ladies here and the way they run their business, and hammer any other member who dares to disagrees with you, I've chosen to refrain from personal attacks and let things play out as they may. Your insinuation that the way I'm polling members about their preferences will result in the Happy Hours being an overall failure is just silly.

How dramatic of you to make such a statement. Would you mind "quoting" where I insunuated the way you are going about this would be a an overall failure?

As to my degrading other providers... I respond when they take a shot at me and I seldom hold back where a few of them are concerned. I also don't go around trying to tell ANYONE how to run their business but will comment on generaltities in threads about that subject matter.

Get your facts straight if you want to get into it with me as their are only a few members riding the bandwagon you seem to want to climb on board. I wouldn't think you would want to lump yourself into that particular little group.

The fact that you can convey your opinion in such a condescending way, on such a consistent basis, is baffling to me. Do you have a Daddy complex? Are you attempting to play out some "I should have been a teacher" dream in some odd way in the hobby? I can promise you, the ladies here are not nearly as stupid as you wish they were. It's obvious you enjoy belittling providers, but doesn't the holier-than-thou attitude get exhausting?

A daddy complex? Nope. I don't think so. And no I don't get exhausted. It's simply a SHMB and in the long run a great source of entertainment as well as information but I don't take any of too seriously.

With as knowledgeable as you claim to be about all things related to adult entertainment, I'm surprised you don't run your own message board, agency or strip club by now.

Too much like work then to have any real fun with them and I have things in my personal life that are not compatible with this being any more than a hobby for me.

It's quite clear that you prefer to spend your time in strip clubs, where you can take advantage of the girls there who will charge you $100 for an hour simply because they don't know any better,

And how is that "taking advantage of them? $100 an hour or realisticly giving them $250-$300 to take the shift off is reasonable money and they set the price most of the time. You suggest what? I should tell them OH NO... You deserve more?....

and you can take pride in "introducing" them to the hobby world (if you actually believe that), grooming them, and teaching them everything you think they don't know, thereby secure your place as a generous, wise mentor in their eyes.

Actually I try to make sure they are never introduced to this particular world....

Your affinity for strip club ladies and their lower "donations" is your business, but the ladies here would greatly appreciate it if you would refrain from trying to drag all of our donations, intelligence and reputations down to the level you're accustomed to.

I see no semblance of the truth in your statement darlin. You are totally off base.

For God's sake, you even hold your get-togethers at strip clubs despite the obvious level of competition you create between the dancers and providers by doing so. The two worlds are similar, but they're not the same. Stop trying to merge them.

Actually we are very selective about the ladies we invite and they have to be of the mindset where THEY want to enjoy what the strip club has to offer i.e. tipping other ladies, getting dances, etc..... Only a few are ever invited and they come from a list that guys indicate they are interested in meeting.... Many of us have done the Social scene and got tired of meeting the same old locals over and over again. I do believe that EVERy provider that has attended has met new clients and expanded their clientel as a positive resul having attended as well.

You're right; I don't know everything. But for the record, neither do you. The difference between us is that I will never go out of my way to make life miserable for those around me, and will always do my best to assist others in a polite, generous manner without being condescending or rude. And that, my friend, means so much more than anything you could ever "teach" me.
Once again darlin... I was simply trying to offer you a suggestion based on a lot of years experience that when planning these kind of things it is better to err on the side of caution and speak in generalities.......

If gals like you could ever learn when to simply ignore what you don't like to hear you wouldn't end up making such a fool of yourself with a long rambling post like this that served nothing of what you were trying to accomplish with your thread.

Unless what you wanted was a debate on the subject with me in which case you could hit one of the other threads...

I'm going to politely defer to my post titled "Enough is enough." in Co-Ed and leave this thread for actual Happy Hour discussions.

If you all are talking about the December bust in Houston, from what I was told the people were not screened, anybody could go into the bar/club. In addition to that the people who were arrested either had drugs on them, or were openly soliciting and discussing things that should not be discussed in any public venue. Also some of the charges were dropped for some.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a poll. I would be more comfortable going to a social gathering put together by one of the ladies then one of the men to be perfectly honest.

You are incorrect.

The place was closed to the public for a Private Party and those attending were "screened".

And whether charges stuck or were dropped.....

Simply getting arrested and subjected to the media attention is enough to ruin most folks lives.

You should never be too sure that any event you go to is secure.

Let's not forget that people have infiltrated the mob, the CIA, the NSA, the KGB, Goldman Sachs, and many organizations with REAL security.

Same for web sites, visits with providers or clients, phone calls, etc.

That doesn't mean to go hide under your bed, but understand and weigh the risks.

And remember, your biggest risk is probably getting killed driving to the event in question.

There were vice cops present that were "screened" members of the board as well as female undercovers that were "verified" providers.

the system of checks and balances meant to limit exposure was circumvented by an operation that was in place for a while before the event occurred.

Some of the Officers were members who were invited.

Did someone get past the guy at the door with the list? Probably. That happens at almost any event.

Like Gneiss is saying... You need to be responsible for your own safety and well being...

Virtually none of the above "facts" have any basis.

Yes, there was a raid.

No drugs were found either on the premises or in any one's possession.

No, no one who was screened was a cop.

The venue was compromised by vice's pressuring them on their liquor license.

Since the venue was operating the door (because all of the door fee was due to the venue) the organizers were not at the door at all times. The venue allowed some vice to enter.

When the organizers were at the door, three vice tried to come in and were turned back. Eight minutes later, the vice squad charged in.

There were 130 people at the event. 15 were separated and 12 of them were taken downtown. Two of those transported were in he country illegally and were subsequently deported. None of the others was hassled nor even asked for an ID.

Of the 10 remaining, to the best of my knowledge, none was convicted, and most if not all of the charges have been dropped.

There is a lot of "stuff" out there about the bust, but only a few who were there (and in the known afterward) know what happened.

The organizers made an elementary mistake in allowing the venue to (pardon my expression) "guard" the door. Were the organizers and those inside confident that the NO HOBBY TALK rules would be followed? Obviously!

No venue with a liquor license can ever prohibit LE from entering (or TABC, for that matter).

Had people followed the rules about NOT talking hobby talk, no one would have gone downtown.

Time to give the Houston thing a rest. Not arrest.

I think Salt Lick, Driftwood would be a perfect spot:

- folks can bring what they want to drink
- nice long tables, facilitates conversation among groups of 12 or so
- weather is turning gorgeous, so an afternoon out would be good for the soul
- if enough ppl RSVP, you could even ask to have the back room (wine tasting room) reserved, for additional privacy for the group
- great food to boot
