Old Dog - Curious Question

I've been a "hobbiest" for more years than I care to remember. Way before the internet, which I've just recently discovered as a hobby source (I know, I know.)

In my travels from sea to shining sea, it was much harder to "hobby" as you either had to know the right people, you took chances with the personal section of newspapers, knew other dubious characters or were familiar with the right neighborhoods to find said activities. We didn't even have cell phones so, if you wanted privacy, you had to walk down to the corner and use a pay phone.

I was wondering, to the guys that used to hobby before "on-line" was part of our vernacular, how did you do it? How did you find providers (outside of local streetwalkers)? How did you hobby safely without having a resource like the internet? I was in the Marines so, it was pretty easy. However, your options were extremely limited. There certainly wasn't the many options you have now.

Just curious.

I used to have a few girls I called from the Post when I was in Houston. Also visited a studio called Hollywood in an industrial area of Houston. They usually had a line-up of 5-8 girls when I went. $250/hr for MSOG. Then there were the strip clubs.

I grew up in Dallas and there were many opportunities.

I started as a teenager picking up BSW's on Washington Ave in Dallas. They had a great set up. A little motor court that they worked out of and rates included the room..

There were also massage parlors. Those were not always a sure thing.

I used to use the Yellow Pages and it was trial and error.

My first hobby experience came with Adam's resort here in Austin. Back then, 1983, the paper allowed adult services to places ads and after months of seeing the ad, I gathered the courage to go there. Loved the line they had and $65 got a 15min FS session Marriage interrupted for the next 11 years and I found myself in Wichita KS. Using the yellow pages I found a good escort agency and stayed with them. Then the internet came along and I have not ben ripped off since using boards like this to check the girls before I see them

I also remember my dad telling me about Telephone Road back in the 70's, and to this day Telephone road is a interesting place..

a road named Telephone in SE Houston, a very blue collar type crowd in the 60''s-70's, many of the Chemical Plant Workers would come and drink in the local bars it was also part of State Hwy 35

In addition to those already mentioned, I would go into a hotel and find a bell boy and ask him where the action was. Many hotels had or the bell boy would get a lady if you had a room in their hotel. My first experience was back in 1959. Still remember the lady. A good time.

Strip clubs. Tip the waitress or one of the dancers a $20 and they're more than happy to tell you which girls will go home with you and/or make a little on the side (or on their back, so to speak). That was by far the safest way for me to find out who was active and who wasn't.

Lost my virginity to a provider at 17. Yellow pages and certain papers used to carry "escort" sections. Not sure if they still do. (been forever since I looked in the YP's). Dated a provider from age 18-20 in Germany and I've been "ruined" ever since, lol!
