Default The Bedspread Thread

http://www.nathosp.com/prod_detail_list/polyester

We all know that hotels don't wash those ugly ass bedspreads very often. (That's just nasty.) They rarely replace the ones they've got. (They're cheapskates.) And we assume that LE (especially the FBI) already has info on who's got what. We're not telling them anything they don't already know.

So, let's match bedspreads to KC hotels! It looks like there are only a few major suppliers, and all of the bedspread patterns have names.

Fake Example: The Super 8 on Noland Road has "Rockefellar" pattern.

We could build a database and by equipment. It would be just like CSI.

I could probably start taking pictures. I travel enough and spend a few weeks on the road through various towns. There are days I wake up and forget where I am and I look at the carpet. I'm like, OK, it's a reddish-gold diamond pattern with blue trim, so I'm in a Hampton Inn. Hampton Inn is Wednesday and Wednesday is Springfield.....OK, now I remember, I'm in Springfield!

When I was younger, I worked a few days at a hotel on the beach as a maid. LOL.
They told us not to wash the comforters, just the sheets.
Gross.

I will say that higher end the chain, the more they pay attention to things like that. Not saying they swap them out as often as they should, but more than a lower end chain. I can tell because my comforter in the room will smell fresh and is very clean. I've been staying at Courtyards by Marriott a lot lately and they use white comforters. Hard to hide dirt on white.

I haven't been in a motel 6 in a while, but I can definitely identify their comforters in a picture! Sooo ugly! A lot of hotels are switching to using two sheets with a blanket in between. I like this better because I know they are clean! And I can actually cover up and not be cold. For the most part, they don't wash the ugly brown blankets either, which is why when I actually spend the night at a room, I'm freeziing the whole night. The marriot is one of the cleaner hotels. They wash and iron their sheets and use duvet covers and wash and iron them everyday!

Doesn't this belong in the thread on roleplaying?

I would have liked to see this Allie. Do you still have the maid outfit?

Monique, did all the hotels use the same pattern? Can you find a picture of it on the net and post it here?

Allie, how do I lure a cute maid to my room to...fluff my pillow?

From my experience it's easier to tell by the carpet than the bed covers. This isn't always true with the lower grade motels. But chains usually use the same carpet in the rooms.

Copy, paste, and add to the list. EXAMPLE: If you're in the Pear Tree Inn and your carpet is navy blue, add it to the list. Carpet, drapes, bedspread, etc are all welcome. If there's distinctive artwork or a unique headboard add that too. See if you can spot the flawed report in the current list.

I didn't have to wear a maid uniform. It was a family owned business on the Gulf Coast of Florida.
Needless to say, that career choice was not for me. LOL.
I like to be the one making the mess, not cleaning it up...
