Even though most folks only think of steak at Bohanan's, (e. houston st) they have some great seafood too - try their grilled jumbo shrimp, and their red snapper was great tasting.

That's true. It's one of my favorite places to dine, downtown.

I just returned from New Orleans. Don't get me started on the awesome places to dine there. The one you mentioned is one of my favorites as a few others.

Neptune Seafood House on Goliad Rd. Last, Little Fish Factory... actually known for their Mexican food(fast food) but their seafood is good. I have my special taco's their. The Sandbar at the Pearl Brewery. It's owned by the chef who ran and owned Le Reve. By far, it's the finest seafood restaurant in town.

I agree that Bohanan's does just about everything well, including seafood. Watermark Grill does a good job on a lot of its seafood. I'm not a huge fan of Wildfish. I find they just fuss with good seafood and forget that simple preparations are best.

A couple of places that have some outstanding seafood dishes: Bistro Vatel (www.bistrovatel.com) serves an incredible old-fashioned Dover Sole; Frederick's (www.frederickssa.com) does French-Asian fusion right and features an array of brilliant seafood dishes; Le Midi (www.lemidirestaurant.com) downtown has several sublime dishes.

If you want a hole in the wall with wonderful seafood, try El Bucanero, an amazing place that serves seafood in the style of a Mexican coastal state. Their best plates are huge and best enjoyed with some friends. It's on S. WW White road.

Hope this helps. Let us know what you try and your thoughts on where you went.

LN,
When I went there (way before Gulf oil spills and such) I ordered the oysters.
They came to me kinda cooked on the outside (fried) and practically frozen on the inside.

Definitely weren't fresh and seemed a tad stale with the breading.

Turned me off entirely.
