Boltfan, I usually agree with your sports opinions but I wholeheartedly disagree here.
You're right when you say the weight of the line does not matter. That does not mean shit. If I remember correctly, Texas Tech had the biggest O-line in football 2 or 3 years ago and they were 8-5. Talent matters and girth does not. Did I really just type that on a whore board?
Anyway, I completely disagree with you Boltfan, when you say that there is no correlation between injury and quality of opponents. I believe I read on a prior post on this thread that you went to SDSU. Do you really think your school would make it out of your weak conference as healthy as they would if they played in the SEC? I highly doubt it; just ask Colt McCoy after the Championship game about the differences with the violent collisions and how the injuries make a difference in quality of opponents. Alabama and other stud teams are no joke and hillbilly Colt found that out before he was even half way into the 1st quarter against Alabama....And just for the record, I hate both Texas AND Alabama.
Big boy football is a different animal - those guys are bigger, stronger and faster and that leads to more injuries. The better the opponent, the better the athletes. And yes, that leads to more injuries....Find me a Hyundai that is fine afer running into a GMC. I know, silly example, but you get the point.
I would also like to add that as a guy who was born in LA, I appreciate that you have Lakers love!!! Threepeat on the way, (assuming of course that Bynum may actually stay healthy for the damn playoffs.)
And Waco Kid, great thread!!!
