We should be tolerant of BBFS just like any other fetish in our hobby.

Wow, get sucked into the ass-end of a 20-hour workday and look at what you miss...
The poll is rigged; there is another option: "It happens all the time. I can't control other people's behavior. I take precautions to protect myself. Beyond that, what other people do in the privacy of the bedroom/hotelroom is none of my fucking business." That's the one I'd have preferred to vote for, barring that I went for the making jokes and having fun one.

Let the people decide and vote.
Here is my promise:
1) This is the only BBFS thread I will comment in from now on.
2) If I see an overwhelming results that this really is not a serious issue in the hobby and joking about it is acceptable to many, then I will apologize on this thread and ask that it be closed and I will not ever comment on BBFS threads again on this board.

If you're going to be a fanatic about something, at least have the conviction to standby what you believe in. Offering to apologize based on a poll result just shredded any semblance of credibility you might have had. Popular opinion does not make right.

Agreed on principle, Al'Thor

Even a semblance of familiarity with history reveals this to be a timeless truth.
However, I disagree that the poster's unfamiliarity with the ethical principle makes him automatically less than credible.
Okay ... now if Moiraine Damodred can just be resurrected, maybe I can book her. (*grin*)

Option #3 reads like a "Who's Who" of the hobby world in the vote counter..........proof that it was never about BBFS..........and always about Joanie.
I am not much for banning people.........I do appreciate the fact that the Mods and Admin have understood the dynamics when Joanie skipped into our cities, and they allowed us to deal with the problem in our own way........some of it made for great fucktard moments.

I hate to quote myself from another thread but I will. I blame this seemingly obsessive behavior on being contaminated, nay perhaps infected by, ANONONE's example. Damn my foolish shortsighted decision to go BBkeyboarding. Maybe I should go to a clinic and see if I test ANONONE positive?

They'll pick a topic and stake out the OBVIOUS moral high ground and then start pissing on everything and everybody that doesn't line up exactly how they think others should line up. They can pick any one of numerous topics that have an obvious choice for even the most minimally compassionate or sensible among us: Smoking, alcohol abuse, spousal or child abuse, recreational drug use, marital infidelity, etc., etc. Subjects where it's easy to attack and marginalize anybody that could possibly disagree with them. It's called setting up a "straw man"; something easy to knock down. This time, as well as a few other recent instances, it was BBFS.
Coming out being opposed to BBFS at this point is like coming out against drunk driving. Pretty much everybody that's going to get the message has already gotten the message. 30-40 years ago, just like BBFS, drunk driving was pretty common. They both happen a whole lot less now. But you'll never completely eliminate either one because there will always be people that don't give a shit about themselves, let alone others, and are wiling to risk death (their own and other people's) just so they can have a good time they way they see fit.
You know how I avoid drunk drivers? I stay off the damn road between 1-3 a.m. It's not a 100% perfect strategy, but that's when most of them are out there. The only way to be completely 100% safe from drunk drivers is the same way to be completely 100% safe from BBFS providers: lock myself in the house and never leave or let anybody else in. And that's not really a practical option. Neither is the other way to be completely 100% safe from both; Hunt down everyone that does it and exterminate them with extreme prejudice and then spy on everyone to make sure nobody ever does it again.
It would annoy me and anybody else that has the sense to not drive drunk to hear somebody constantly moan about how horrible it is and how people that do it are dirtbags. At some point it's worse than listening to the same damned Britney Spears song over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over ... you get the idea. You know what happens then? People with some actual sense will start to ridicule the soapbox preacher and his position. It's not about being in favor of rampant BBFS or thinking it's not an issue to be concerned with. It's about getting the relentless shrill voice of an attention-seekin camouflaged bully looking to feed their lust-for-authority to shut up and let the rest of us enjoy a little peace and quiet.

So glad I am not in Texas anymore. I Was thinking about making a trip through soon but may have to reconsider. Now I understand why so many of the providers are so fed up with the hobbiest in Texas.

Awwwww.........did we hurt your feelings.........come to Houston. We will line up at your door........
They should lift the ban immediately so Joanie can begin fulfilling his promise. Then we can all go to the Ohio board and annoy the fuck out of him (stolen from boardman on the island)..........in a nice way.

As one of the first to join the parade of folks that like to cut across the grain, and standing up for my right to do things as I want, I apparently went brain dead and did not catch that most of the posters were not condoning bbfs, rather taking the position that people will do as they want. Quit preaching about it and just cover your own ass as you see fit. My apologies to to yall for misunderstanding your motives and what I misunderstood you to be saying. I will meekly go to the woodshed for my punishment. I should have known to look deeper that what was on the surface after all I was dealing with a bunch of fellow TEXANS
