Some folks should realize how lucky we are

I was sitting here reading different threads about the hobby including the one about ladies not showing their faces in their ads and the myriad of threads about pimps,no shows etc.
It made me think about what the "hobby" used to be like before the INTERNET.
My early experiences were definitely much different than they are now. The methods to meet the ladies were iffy at best. The first provider I ever met ,I called an escort service form out of the yellow pages. No pictures you just told the person on the phone what type of girl you were interested in and hoped for the best. I had asked for a thin Asian girl.The lady that showed up was not thin but was Asian.it was a good time but of course not quite what I had expected. My only other encounters back then were at Boys Town in Mexico and a trip to Vegas and the Chicken Ranch. In both those places the girls were lined up and you chose from a selection of about 6-8 ladies. Kind of cold and unsettling for a newbie.
Back then there were very few independent ladies , most worked for agencies or had pimps. In-calls were studios or massage parlors. There were no nice apartment in-calls unless you were rich enough to meet the so called "high society" call girls. In a lot of areas streetwalkers were the best you could do with the dangers and run ins with Le that this brought with it.
Guys were robbed ,ripped off and even murdered fairly often because the whole culture was kept underground and the clients really had no reliable info to go by. Who was legit,who was a danger ,etc. We now have sites such as this and p411 that help the men make better and safer decisions. We have pics and reviews to help us choose who we really want to meet. There are alerts posted so that we can play safer. There is a plethora of info for the newbie and veteran hobbiest alike.
Back then aids had not even been heard of. Safe sex was seldom practiced by the ladies so chances of std's was high. Most the ladies that we meet now take precautions to help minimize these risks. Those that don't are usually outed on here so that again the men know whether it is safe to see them.
The term GFe had not even been invented in those days. You saw the girl ,got your rocks off and left. Kissing was a taboo act with the ladies.They only did this with their boyfriends or SO's.
Now you can pretty much find a lady that will fit any type activity you may want just by typing into a search. PSE,GFE,bondage, whatever is available and you decide who you want to see.
For the ladies the way things are now they are able to work for themselves.
They have tools to do screening and advertise without needing a manager or pimp to do so. They are able to keep their money instead of working for someone else who will take the majority of their hard earned wages. They can do this as a side job with the benefits of getting paid and maybe having those encounters they normally just dreamed of before.The ladies come from all walks of life.College girls,soccer moms ,business ladies and more.
It gives the man a chance to fulfill his fantasy with just about any type of woman he has ever wanted to meet.
Sure what we have now sometimes may not seem perfect and there will always be complaints for some reason or another.Times change as does the hobby but for the most part I would have to say that we guys and the ladies have to be a little thankful that we have it so much easier than we did before in the hobby.
I hope this hasn't sounded to long winded but Just felt that with all the complaining that we hear maybe a few thoughts on what it used to be like and how lucky we are may change some folks perspectives.
So next time you are about to bitch and moan about the minor things that went wrong with a session or that things didn't go just right. Remember at least you had the chance to research and to make your choice unlike those in the past.
We actually have it pretty damn good.

Things are this much better because of the advances.
Luck is just a term we all use to describe good or bad situations. In this case the good ones.

Good post Looie. Few remember the things you mentioned & those who never experienced it should read and learn. There would be far fewer complaints here if they knew how bad it could be.

With ECCIE, I don't know why anyone would shop BP for unknowns, unless they want to relive the past - or are too stubborn to learn from their "elders".
