Question

Trying to decide weather or not to button up. It's a big job and it's hard to find help around here.

LL, I live on the north end of Padre, may heart goes out to you as it's troubling watching and waiting weather we should run or not!

(Sadly, they always turn right!)

I would secure my property and head at least to McAllen Area. This is the first year I do not have my trailer at the jetties so that's one less thing to worry about. Dolly took out my sea wall and dock at the lake and I am so close to finishing the repairs on it, hope I don't have to start all over.

I'm in the same boat as you, Bubba. At this time, it looks like we shouldn't need to board up in Corpus Christi. But if all doesn't go as predicted, it will be damn difficult to find help on short notice.

As a comprimise, I already had a neighborhood kid help me do the top windows. I figure I can always do the bottom myself.

This hurricane's course and projected landfall is very similar to Hurricane Gilbert back in 1988. That one caused a lot of damage inland away from the coast because of the many thunderstorms and tornadoes that were spawned from the feeder bands on the north side of the hurricane. In the San Antonio area alone about a dozen tornadoes were reported and most of them caused significant damage. I do not care where you are, please stay informed of what is going on and be prepared to evacuate. I hope everyone in the south Texas area stays safe and comes out of this storm in good shape.

So far so good in mcallen. Had to lower the pool level twice so far. Lots of rain and a little rain. Internet goes in and out. A few tornadoes have touched down but no major damage so far. We have several more hours of bad weather yet though.

Good to be back in SPI. Awfully nice to see providers welcome us to other areas.
