Default A memorial one year later

Its been a year since I lost my best friend. Cheyenne was my lifetime companion, the type of dog that comes along once in our lives. The year has passed quickly, but my memories of her are still strong and in my heart. The true dog people out there will understand my loss. Not a day goes by I dont think of my best friend and companion, she will forever be buried in my heart. Rest easy old gal, you are gone but not forgotten.

Big Bob:

The contribution our "extended" family members bring to our lives is immense. As such, the void the leave is huge as well. We never replace our four legged friends who leave us, rather we build new and different memories as we add others to our family.

Remember Cheyenne kindly, and smile about the delight she brought to your life!

Big Bob- perhaps-"she will forever be alive in my heart" - ? Yes?
Read, if you have not, one of the versions of "The Bridge" on the net. One may shed tears- it helps healing.
A good Dog companion is beyond price.
Bless Cheyenne and you.

Oh yes I have read the story of Rainbow Bridge many times. Cheyenne will live forever in my heart and her spirit is strong. I think we all have one great companion come into our lives at some point. That companion might be a dog, or a cat, horse whatever. Cheyenne was my great companion, she changed my life forever. I now have Maggie and Charlie, both are rescue dogs and both are border collies and are loved and have a special place in my heart. But there will only be one "lifetime" dog and that was Cheyenne.

Im sorry for your loss BigBob.

My mother lost her dog last year and it totally broke her heart. Infact she still hasn't gotten over it. She won't replace her either.

I am acutally getting 2 puppies next weekend that I am acutally really excited about. They will be my first two puppies ive ever had. I hope to grow a special bond with them. I think my child will get to grow up with them and have a great doggie companion in our family!

Ive heard amazing stories about dogs. Even watching the movie Marley and Me made me cry soo hard.. I can't hardly watch the movie...

Marley and Me is one of my favorite movies. Cheyenne was a border collie, very smart and such a clown too. When I first moved into my house she pulled a board off the fence and drug it around the yard like a toy. I still dont know why she was so fascinated with a board from the fence. Cheyenne was barely 6 weeks old when she came into my life. Puppies are special, need a lot of attention and supervision and training. Best to teach them as soon as possible especially about housebreaking them properly. Play time is also important and they especially need supervision during this time and around your child. The puppie should not be allowed to bite and needs to be disciplined. Like Caesar Melan says you must be the pack leader and use firm but calm discipline with your dog.
