WDF, you already know I would replace the tax code. There is no fix to it. It's bad, and it leads to the sort of stupidity you spout routinely.
And now we have you preaching to us from the Bible. It is the End Times.

Communist/socialists have almost always repressed Christianity. Marx said that religion was the opiate of the people. The Soviets and the Red Chinese have persecuted and murdered Christians.
If Christianity was compatable with communism/socialism, there would have been a natural alliance from the beginning; there hasn't been, because the communist/socialists want to replace the role of God with the State. The communist/socialists want the State to be the one to determine what is good and evil and how we should live our lives, not God.

Very good COG. Why can't that point be easily seen.

I asked you to tell me where I lied.
When you fix the tax code, would the government get to keep the taxes it is owed?

That's for the voluntary giving Marshall, not the tax that Jesus spoke about.
I thought you said you were smart and liked to read?
Guess not. We already know you didn't read the TOS too well, did you Marshall.

Really? Do you have money in your wallet? Bills i mean (1's, 5's, 20's, 100's).
Take them out and turn them over and look at the back. Right in the center under the United States of America, what does it say?

And the religious right, Governor Vaginal Probe, WannbeeVP and any other TeaParty Parrotriot want to replace God, not the role of God, with Ralph Reed and/or whomever becomes the next Jerry Falwell. We can see how the role of a human interpreter of God on earth with the power to issue edicts (i.e. "bulls" - very aptly named) worked out for the RC's, not to mention societies they came in contact with. RCv2.0, i.e the Church of England, along with the RC's and their less than glorious past, are the best reason - by far - for the separation of church and state and the one in the Founding Fathers' mind when they wrote it. Whether it's a monarch or oligarch, the head of state that's also the head of the national religion is, and always has been, a poisonous combination. That's also why I like the Heinz-57 herd of Christian denoninations we have here - pick 'em, from the Holy Rollers to the Unitarians and whatever's in between. I wonder how long that would last under the auspices of the evangelicals?

Obama says we're NOT a Christian nation. He isn't; that's for sure.

Actually the exact quote is "Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people".
If anything, Marx critiques the SOCIETY more than religion.

Communists/socialists did not repressed only Christians. All religions were persecuted in good ole USSR.

Russia became Christian in order to unite the country and establish centralized administrative control over its regions. It was PRACTICAL choice, not religious. When Bolsheviks came to power it was only natural that they had to destroy influence of the Church and replace it with their own ideals. I am not saying it is right or wrong, but considering what kind of power Orthodox Church held in Russia, keeping it intact would have been similar to keeping Czar's military officers in their commanding positions.
