The Hottest Band in the world!!!
Do you like loud, crunchy guitars? Do you like hot Asian girls? Check these girls out.

I ran across these girls early this year on YouTube, and was blown away. I can't understand a word they say, but they freaking Rock! They are called Scandal, not to be confused with the 80's band with Patty Smythe. That was how I ran across them in the first place. There are a lot of their vids on YouTube, a couple from when they were only 17-18 years old. I hope the links work, first time trying this, if not search scandal japanese band and you'll get a bunch. Enjoy!

2 guitars, bass, drums, 3 part vocal harmonies, that's the classic AMERICAN formula for rock-n-roll! Going from not playing instruments at all, to signing a major label recording contract, writing some and at least co-writing most of their music. When has that happened here in the U.S. in the last 30 years? I keep thinking that they were Asian-American girls singing in English, they would sell millions! What do we get? Every 10 years an invasion of pre-programmed boy bands that don't or can't play an instrument to save their lives! And don't get me started on Rap! Let's face it, music in America is a vast wasteland. The last music movement here I got excited about was Grunge, and that was 20 years ago. I kind dug some of the NuMetal stuff in the late 90's early 00's. I'm an old guy who grew up on Skynard, Aerosmith, and Led Zepplin, so I just appreciate actual musicians. These girls just remind me of 70's rock, loud crunchy guitars and honest talent. If it comes from Japan in the guise of 4 teenaged, cute GIRLS, it got my attention. Just thought I'd share, for what's its worth. Enjoy.

Yep, the direction that popular music has gone since "grunge" is very very unfortunate. And you are right....actual musicianship is hardly in the equation anymore. It's sad.

Orianthi! Awesome girl guitar player. But, she's from Australia! Definitely smoking hot! I got hip to her a couple of years ago, even before the Michael Jackson gig. There are some YouTube vids of her playing with Carlos Santana in 06. Awesome!

5, 6, 7, 8's "Woo Hoo:"

And, the original (If you can stay hooked on this one until about the middle, you'll see some 1959-era white chump channelling his inner rapper - maybe he's Mr. Mathers' uncle...lol) :

where the fuck have you been? bruce, ray wylie, mellencamp, chris knight, lyle, paul simon, brent best, grohl, ...there are some real songwriters. and that's just lyrics. so many great music writers too. how you can place these no talent chicks in the pantheon of music writers of the past 30 years escapes me. and what the fuck does 'at least co-writing most of their music' mean? co-writing stuff that sucks is not a badge of honor.

they probably would. they have all it takes to be successfull...they make up for a complete lack of talent and originality by being cute and wearing sexy outfits.

i'll give you the 'reminds me of 70's rock, because it is a total rip-off of the genre. nothing new. nothing of interest. please point out where the talent is.
they suck so bad i can't believe i spent this much time pointing out how much they suck.

Damn JP! Didn't mean to piss in ur wheaties! I will give ya Dave Grohl, but come on! Has Bruce or Mellencamp had a hit since 88? I don't know if you have ever tried to learn to play an instrument, but I play Bass and Guitar and have played in Classic rock cover bands for 20 years. It ain't easy. It's like learning a new language. No talent? I have to disagree. 3 chords? The movement and chord changes is what I noticed right away. My point is just the state of music in the U.S. There really isn't a place on radio that would play a new song by Bruce or Mellencamp today. Don't know if you watched the MTV video awards, but you talk about a collection of no talent! There are the occasional "Bright Lights" in a very dark sea. Not like the 70's and even till the mid 80's when we had really good music all over the place, Bruce, Billy Joel, Mellencamp, Tom Petty, Van Halen, not Van Hagar, Night Ranger, and the like all over the radio. I just wanted to share something I stumbled onto, not step on anyone's toes. I've always read and enjoyed ur AMP reviews, and respected ur standing on the board. Didn't mean to offend.
