Breaking news from CNN: President Obama requesting emergency funding of 500 million dollars for border enforcement, in addition the president has ordered 1300 troops to the border , CNN indicates that this border presence is to be permanent . It looks as if the administration blinked. I do give the President props for finanlly stepping up to the plate. I am sure more information will be forthcoming.

The Bamster has an approval rating of 43%, the DJIA is plummetting under 10,000 points, unemployment is going up, 64% of the public want Obamacare repealed, more states are beginning to write legislation similar to Arizona's. Do you need any other reasons for the Bamster to throw this much force towards border security? If he follows through, then the Bamster will deserve all the credit for finally doing his constitutionally defined job, for the first time.

What many of you probably don't understand as it isn't reported much north of where I live and work (I live in New Mexico and work in El Paso two weeks a month); as I write this post I am sitting in a hotel room about a mile from Juarez and to date there have been 1,000 murders in a city of roughly 1 million people. Folks we in the United States are responsible for many of these murders through our War on Drugs.....We either have to face up to the fact that our country has an appetite for marijuana and legalize it and bring it above board or pretend our country doesn't have an appetite for it! Our own media doesn't report this travesty. Juarez right now not a mile from where I am sitting is more dangerous than going to Iraq or Afghanistan! This city is on our border! Fences don't work; troops don't work; border patrol doesn't work and quite frankly I object to being stopped as an American citizen when I drive home to Albuquerque at a check point to ask if I am a citizen and I am 100 miles from the border.....Oh and by the way the people in the above named jobs who protect our border also are compromised by huge bribes from the drug cartels to let shipments through. Just thought you would like some insight from someone who can literally see into Mexico from my hotel window................

Cheaper, how many troops did Bush send to the border? I think the number was 3,000 so now Obama is continuing a Bush policy but only doing it halfway.
McCain is trying to save his sorry behind with his johnny come lately approach to immigration reform.

I still want to know the orders given to the troops. Considering everything they may be handing out gift baskets.
